I’d still like to work on fine tuning the toe for a better set back. But he walked away happy and comfortable so that’s the most important 😊

This horse has a navicular diagnosis. We have been trimming him with the hoof builders approach. That means trimming to stimulate the hooves internal structures and to mimic miles of wear. Aka no top dressing to make the foot look a particular way.

This horse is much more comfortable today from where we started 2 years ago. But I hope to keep seeing positive changes to his new growth. He is wearing the versa grips glue on by EasyCare Inc. Protective Hoofwear

Exciting news! Þóra is four years old this year, and the wait to start her is finally over. I’ve been busy working with other horses lately, so I’ve just begun introducing her to work — and I couldn’t be happier with how her first sessions went. She’s already following a target and guiding nicely on the lead rope with a soft, responsive feel. I’ve been dreaming of riding her bold, beautiful personality for so long, and it feels like a dream come true to finally be taking these first steps to preparing her for what's to come. Can’t wait to see what’s next on this exciting journey!

I should have brought out the Pivo 😅

🌟 Meet Þóra (Thor-a)! 🌟 I’ve raised this beautiful filly and I'm so excited to start her training this year! At four years old, she’s ready to learn and grow. Today was her first time in the arena, and I jumped into the reverse round pen with her—she picked it up right away! 🎉 I can’t wait for this amazing journey together!

Thanks Kassie Brennan for capturing these moments

🌟 Exciting Update on Andi! 🌟 After some time focusing on our journey together, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve been riding him solo in the round pen! 🎉 The pieces are finally coming together, and I can't wait to get back into the arena for more adventures. The bond we’re building through positive reinforcement training is truly amazing! 🐴💖

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue this incredible journey together!

✨ Feeling grateful for the journey with Andi! ✨ Even after a training session that didn’t go exactly as planned, we ended on such a positive note. Andi has been showing signs that he wants to lay down, so I decided to train that behavior, and I’m thrilled to share that he’s starting to do it on command! How awesome is that? 🐴💖 Here’s to celebrating the little victories and the progress we make together!

Today’s training session didn’t go as I had hoped, and it’s a strong reminder of just how tolerant our horses truly are. Some days, I find it challenging to resist the urge to “just make” them do what’s on my agenda. But to what end? Would my horse really enjoy coming out to be handled if I forced him to do laps with no end in sight? I doubt it.

What I’ve enjoyed most about learning more about positive reinforcement is seeing how horses begin to choose to work with you. Even on tough days like today, when I have to fight the urge to check things off my to-do list, it has become a more profound journey. It’s about forming a new type of bond—one built on trust and choice. Grateful for these lessons and the opportunity to grow together! 🐴❤️

Here are some highlights from a recent training session with Andi! We're making steady progress as we put the pieces together for riding. Exciting times ahead! 🐴✨ It’s taking some time to navigate the steps while aiming to use R+ we don’t always get it right. But it’s been very eye opening to keep the horses emotional wellbeing at the top of our goal rather than sticking to a traditional timeline or approach.

Exciting things are finally falling into place for Andi! 🎉 It’s been a slow journey with plenty of pauses along the way, but it feels great to be moving forward and assembling the pieces! Here’s to progress and new beginnings! 💪✨

Thanks Ellie for the help!
