Getting our team of Veterinarians together at the CVMA Conference in Victoria was more than just a team trip, it was an opportunity to recharge, reconnect, and refocus on what we love most: caring for your pets. Conferences like this help us stay up to date on the latest research, treatments, and technology in veterinary medicine. We spent time learning from leading experts, exploring new techniques, and sharing ideas with other passionate professionals. It was an inspiring few days, and we’re excited to bring that knowledge and energy back to the clinic to continue providing the best possible care for your furry, scaley, and spikey family members.

This week Nash one of our staff member’s pets, did something incredibly brave. He donated his blood to help save not one, but two tiny patients: a hedgehog 🦔 and a rabbit 🐰 who were both battling corneal ulcers.

Thanks to Nash’s donation, these little ones got the antibodies they needed and Nash was rewarded with a bag of treats for his bravery. If you need a refresher on why we have animals donate their blood see below;
The serum from Nash’s blood has anticollaginase activity which aids healing by applying the serum directly to the eye, the beneficial components help support the rabbit’s/Hedgehog’s immune system and promote recovery. Treatments like these can be used in a variety of treatments for animals and are especially helpful when other medications might not be as effective or a more natural approach is needed to boost the animals own healing capabilities.

Today is world pet memorial day and we invite you to share your story with us 🐾 💙

“ I still remember the day I picked up Dallas from a farm just outside Edmonton. From the very beginning he was my constant companion. Through stressful exam prep, heartbreaks over loss, or watching a sad movie, he always sensed when I needed his comfort. Years later after becoming a mom to three children he always welcomed them with patience and love, never phased by crying babies or busy toddlers.

In his senior years Dallas had to have one of his eyes surgically removed but he carried on with his same gentle spirit. When we said our goodbyes last May, our daughter took her stuffed animal version of Dallas and carefully removed one of its eyes so it would look just like him. It was her way of keeping him close and a moment I’ll never forget.

Animals leave lasting pawprints on our hearts. The space Dallas left behind is still deeply felt but with that is the love, the comfort, and the beautiful memories of a dog who loved unconditionally” - Justine Stockley Hospital Administrator/Owner at ERABH

Earlier this month, Dr. Khoo generously volunteered her time to train a local fire department in animal CPR and emergency care🐾 ⛑️. In the event of a fire, first responders may be the first to assist not just people, but pets too. Dr. Khoo demonstrated essential techniques, including rescue breathing using pet oxygen masks and performing chest compressions for pets of various sizes, among other emergency techniques. We’re incredibly proud of Dr. Khoo for her dedication and grateful to our local firefighters for going the extra mile to protect all members of the family, furry ones included!! 🐾 ❤️

We’re proud to be a sponsor of this action packed exciting tournament!

A big welcome and thank you to our Tournament Sponsor Eagle Ridge Animal and Bird Hospital out in Coquitlam!

We thank the ERABH team for their contribution to the community, our fur families and the upcoming tournament.

We keep saying it cause we really mean it, whether your parents signed you up as a kid and you've been playing for decades or you've made a New Years commitment to exercise and have realized its May and you've yet to start, we welcome everyone to join us on the court!
