Homeward Bound Rescue HBR is a volunteer-run, foster home-based nonprofit rescue located across Ontario, Canada. A small scale dog rescue group located in Ontario, Canada.

We rely solely on donations to keep our doors open to dogs in need: please consider donating today! We are non-profit, volunteer-run, and foster home based, meaning we have no kennel facilities where our dogs are kept. Each rescue dog lives temporarily in a volunteer's home until their Forever Home is found. We specialize in rescuing brachycephalic (flat faced) dogs: Bulldogs, Pugs, Boston Terrier

s, Boxers, French Bulldogs, Mastiffs, Shih Tzus, American Bulldogs. All dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, health checked, and microchipped before adoption. All potential adopters must fill out an application, have references checked, and a home visit. Each dog has an adoption fee they are NOT free. Please respect what we do. All money goes back to care for the dogs. Veterinary costs for the breeds we rescue are very high! Our rescue dogs come from owner surrenders, puppy mills, Humane Societies, and local shelters.

🚙 HBR is in need of volunteer drivers! 🚙

Do you like to drive? We are in need of drivers across Ontario to help transport dogs to their foster homes and some supply runs to different fosters. This is an important position! Without transport we could miss out on a vital situation where a dog needs rescue but we are unable to get to them! 🩷

If you sign up to be a driver you are able to choose which transports you can help with. And longer transports may be broken up between multiple drivers. At the end of the year you submit receipts and mileage and HBR will send you a tax receipt that you can use for donation purposes on your taxes. 🐾
