Heed this post from 2021, friends. Is your dog asking to go out just before dawn? Skunk. Scratching at the door before the dew melts? Skunk. Whining just after dusk? Baby, that’s Pepe Le Pew looking for a date. Stay safe!

We think there’s a serial-skunker on the loose in Lanark! If your pup gets sprayed, for the love of everything holy, DO NOT WASH THEM WITH WATER! Not at first! Water cements the skunk oils into fur!
Make this paste and massage it into their coat:
1) ¼ cup of baking soda.
2) 1-2 teaspoons of mild dishwashing detergent like Dawn.
3) 1 quart of 3% Hydrogen Peroxide solution.
4) Mix in a bucket and use immediately.
5) Work the foaming mixture well into the coat.
6) Leave on for five minutes.
7) Rinse with warm water.
8 ) Follow with dog shampoo if desired.
9) give us a shout and book in your pup for a follow-up de-skunking! 613-259-2555

Remain vigilant until we can bring this Pepe le Pew to justice!

Two-time sprained tail champion Penny came in for a bit of an emergency bath this afternoon. How did she sprain her tail twice, you ask? You watch and try to get to the bottom of it while we try to find out who’s skunky 🕵🏻‍♂️ Good girl, Penny!
