On Monday February 27, 2023 the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society is calling for your baking expertise and enthusiasm to help raise much needed funds for all animals in need. Your cupcakes will help give a surrendered cat a new forever home, rescue a neglected or abandoned animal and give them a second chance at a new life, and provide emergency surgery to thousands of injured animals. We can’t think of a better love story than one where an animal in need finally receives the love and care they deserve. Because of your love and support this Cupcake Day, animals like this sweet boy are finding their happily-ever-after…

Thor arrived in the care of the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society at eight months of age, emaciated and showing signs of neglect. With the guidance of a trusted veterinarian, the team worked diligently to create a re-feeding program to help him gain weight safely. Soon after intake, Thor went to a loving foster home, where he continued his feeding program and worked on developing positive behaviour.
After a few weeks of TLC, Thor’s foster mom was happy to report that he was thriving – his weight was increasing to a healthy range and he was gaining confidence while learning new skills.

Thanks to the love and compassion shown by Thor’s foster mom, our dedicated team, and incredible Cupcake Day supporters (that means you!) animals like this sweet boy are feeling the love this Valentine's Day!

Something sweet is happening... animals across the province are getting a second chance at life this Cupcake Day! Thanks to supporters like you, Twix, the sweet one-year-old Mastiff got his!

Twix arrived at the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society Cornwall and Region Animal Centre extremely underweight and lethargic, and with wounds on his body. After following a diligent and carefully managed refeeding program, and receiving some TLC from a foster mom, Twix started to gain weight and show his charming personality. Thanks to the generosity of our donors and supporters, Twix was able to receive a second chance and has since been adopted!

You can help animals like Twix by spreading the love and kickstarting your Cupcake Day fundraising! You can:

We are paw-sitively thrilled to announce the winner of our participating bakeries contest—Penny's Cupcakes & Co.! 🎉🧁

Based in Barrie, Ontario, Penny's Cupcakes & Co. is famous for crafting stunning, mouthwatering cupcakes that are as delightful to look at as they are to eat. Lately, their Cookie Dippers have also been stealing the spotlight (and yes, our mouths are watering too!).

As a devoted dog mom, owner Jenna has a huge heart for animals, which is why she eagerly supported the Ontario SPCA Barrie Animal Centre's Cupcake Day fundraiser.

"I'm a huge animal lover. It breaks my heart to see animals in shelters—if I could adopt them all, I would. Supporting when I can is important to me, and since baking is my passion, combining the two just makes sense!"
