Today’s Surgical Spotlight is a lumpectomy. A lumpectomy is the surgical removal of a lump. These masses are usually benign (non-cancerous) but can grow large, making movement difficult and lowering quality of life.
Dr. Fitch removed a mass from sweet Bella the rat, and she did amazing! Just like dogs and cats, rats and other small pets can develop growths that may need medical attention. Early veterinary care can make a big difference for their health and comfort. 🩺🐭

Today, our amazing veterinary team — led by Dr. Dennett and assisted by our skilled technician Katrina— performed a cystotomy to remove bladder stones from a sweet canine patient. 🐕🪨

Bladder stones can cause discomfort, urinary issues, and even life-threatening blockages. Thanks to a thorough diagnosis and surgical care, this pup is already on the road to a healthier, happier life! 💪❤️

🐶🐱 Safety First at Riverside South Animal Hospital! 🐾
We love seeing all of your pets — from the tiniest kittens to the biggest pups — and we want to make every visit as safe and stress-free as possible for everyone.
That’s why we kindly ask that all pets be kept on a leash or in a secure carrier any time you visit the clinic, both inside and outside the building.
Even the most well-behaved pets can get startled by unfamiliar sights, sounds, or smells. A sudden noise, another animal, or even just excitement can cause a pet to bolt — and once they’re loose, it can be very difficult to find them again. Loose pets also risk injury to themselves or others, and they may cause stress or fear in other animals who are already nervous about their visit.
Keeping your pet leashed or crated protects:

✅ Other animals and their owners
✅ Our staff
✅ And your peace of mind
