Happy Registered Veterinary Technician Week! 🐾

Just like nurses, RVTs are the backbone of every veterinary clinic — the multitasking heroes working behind the scenes (and often covered in lots of fur 🐕🐈).

Here’s just a glimpse of what they do every day:

▪️ Phlebotomist – collects and processes blood samples
▪️ Laboratory technician – runs diagnostic tests (bloodwork, urinalysis, cytology)
▪️ Pharmacist assistant – prepares and dispenses medications
▪️ Surgical assistant – preps patients and assists during procedures
▪️ Anesthetist – monitors anesthesia to keep patients safe
▪️ Radiographer – captures diagnostic X-rays
▪️ Dental hygienist – performs dental cleanings and radiographs
▪️ Emergency triage nurse – assesses and stabilizes emergencies
▪️ Treatment nurse – administers injections, fluids, and medications
▪️ Patient caretaker – provides post-op and inpatient care
▪️ Microscopist – examines f***ls, urine, and cytology samples
▪️ Discharge nurse – reviews home care and recovery instructions
▪️ Client educator – explains treatments and preventive care
▪️ Wellness advocate – discusses nutrition and parasite prevention
▪️ Inventory coordinator – manages medical supplies and medications
▪️ Record keeper – maintains accurate medical charts
▪️ Safety officer – upholds biosecurity and workplace safety

Our Story

Grandview Animal Hospital, founded in 1989, offers a wide range of veterinary services including vaccinations, annual physicals, f***l examinations, blood profiles, radiography, dentistry, general surgery, and wellness programs. We hope you find our approach helpful and compassionate. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or for more information. We would love to hear from you! We have two full time veterinarians, Dr. James Schulenberg and Dr. Ashley Jeffs, as well as a part time vets, Dr. Tom Nugent and Dr. Jan Crockatt. Our receptionists Josephine and Katie are usually the friendly faces you see at the front desk, and would be happy to help you with any questions or concerns. Our veterinary technicians, Nikki, Tara, Cindy and Shayna will always be working hard at the back, and will treat your pet as their own. Last but not least, Lauren is our groomer and part time receptionist - talk to her for all your grooming needs!
