Delivery and In-Person Pick Up Information you need to know for August ⬇️ ⬇️

1️⃣ Our weekly order cut off remains the same, every Monday at noon for delivery the same week. This coming Monday Aug 4 is a stat holiday, but that does not change our cut off!

2️⃣ There is no in person Shop at the Dog Shoppe this month! The next scheduled date is Saturday September 13 from 9 am - 12 pm at 36 Exploration Drive.

If I can get myself organized, I hope to have an open house/BBQ in September or October to show off our new space! Stay tuned!

3️⃣ Our new monthly delivery dates continue their rotation! See graphic for the locations included in each zone.

3 Ways to Shop in person with Grand Dog this month!

Grand Dog has set pick up times on a monthly basis for those who are from out of our delivery zones or would rather shop in person (and save on the delivery fee!).

Our next Shop at the Dog Shoppe is: July 19, 2025 from 9 am - 12 pm.

Pick up is at 36 Exploration Drive Devon, Alberta.

There is no pick up in August. We will resume again on September 13, 2025.

Raw food items require pre-ordering so we have what you need on hand. To pre-order raw food items, please contact [email protected].

Christine from CW Canine Consulting will also be there for training gear and advice!

Grand Dog will be at the Devon Downtown Market twice in July! The first date is tomorrow!

July 12 & July 26, 2025 from 10 am - 3 pm

That's a wrap for June! It was a jam packed month: markets, parties, our 7th birthday, new Four Roots raw pet food blends, and getting out to enjoy the summer weather! I feel like I could nap for a month, but it looks like July will also be a busy month!

Whenever I think of colostrum, it brings me back to when my little was born and my midwife shared all the things my first milk and beyond could provide.

Colostrum gives newborns a boost to their immune system to help fight off pathogens. It provides vital nutrients needed for their initial growth and development. It can also be used topically to support healing of the ailments below due to it's antibacterial properties.

When a dog's immune system is sensitive, it reacts strongly to substances like food, dust, grass when it shouldn't. Colostrum has antibodies that can help boost your dog's immunity and reduce environmental allergy symptoms.

Colostrum can be added to a pups mealtime and/or used topically.

Mix Four Leaf Rover Bovine Colostrum with distilled water. Make into a paste and apply it to the affected areas.

Use this paste topically to help with things like:

Skin infections
Wounds (including surgical wounds)
Insect bites
Abscesses
Hot spots
Rashes
Ear infections
Cysts

A look back on where we started and where we are going ⬇️ ⬇️

Seven years ago, Greg left for Calgary to do his first delivery run for Grand Dog Essentials.

It consisted of driving to Penhold for product pick up and then driving to Calgary and meeting Hauke (who he purchased the business from and is now our Four Roots Business partner) at the Starlight Diner. Together over breakfast they made that days route.

Oh how things have changed!

From biweekly deliveries to Edmonton and Calgary to weekly deliveries. Then increasing to two times a week in both cities. Calgary days used to include Red Deer. Now, there is a dedicated driver and day dedicated to Red Deer and area.

Routing has evolved from that breakfast meeting. Greg spent many hours at his desk manually entering orders into a spreadsheet and routing in Google Maps. Now we have an automated system with tracking capabilities.

Greg drove many miles along HWY 2 delivering BY HIMSELF for the first year. Our delivery team has grown to two full time drivers. Len and Ken are the true superstars of the operation!

From being primarily online to expanding to in person sales through markets and our space in Devon (more to come on this!).

And now, after years of people thinking we made the food offered in our shop, we can finally say that's true with our partnership with products.

It's been a crazy ride these last seven years! We wouldn't be here without the support of everyone of you. It means a lot to us that you put your trust and support into our little company. We are so grateful for all of you!
