Horse Boarding Facility The Red Barn Ranch is located in beautiful Summerland, BC. We offer a warm environment with comfortable and welcoming bedrooms and staff.

We also offer several packages that include trail rides and dinners. As well as the B&B we do offer trails rides, which will be a guided tour up in the mountains behind our property, endless trails with beautiful scenery. You can view the whole valley by horse back, horse back is the best view in our opinion. We also offer Christian horse camps throughout the spring and summer and can host small weddings as well.

Red Barn Ranch is looking for volunteers for a kids horse camp on August 27-29 Runs from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. Includes lunch. Should be 16 years or older. Horse experience preferred. We work with volunteers on what to do. Very informal camp - lots of fun - integrating games on horses with riding skills. Volunteers matched with a child for the three days. Pays a stipend. Red Barn Ranch offers Kids Horse Camps each summer. Our first camp is on July 30 - Aug 1, 2019. Next two are Aug 13-15, and Aug 27-29

We are looking for volunteers to assist the young kids with their horses. Volunteers should be 16 years or older.

Horse experience is preferred but not totally necessary. Volunteers would be matched with one child, assist in tacking up, leading horses when necessary, assisting child with mounting, dismounting, etc. We play games on horses so very laid back, fun oriented and do a wide variety of things. Geared to the ages and experience of the children.

This is a Christian camp so has a devotional component.
Hours are from 9:00 to 4:30.

The Red Barn Ranch is up and running for 2019 season. We wanted to take this opportunity to let everyone know the different services we offer.

- trail riding (we do small private rides - 2 riders). Usually between 1 to 2 hours - but can do a bit longer for the seasoned riders.

Horse Board in Summerland at Red Barn Ranch
We have a variety of paddocks, pastures. Some with less grazing (for horses with special needs) and some with larger grazing areas. All have walk in shelters. Board includes hay (slow feeder bags used - owner supplies). Boarders supply their own grain, supplements, etc. Extra charge for feeding extras.
Private tack lockers provided. Immediate access to mountain trails. Round pen, large riding arena, and obstacle course on site. Less than 5 minute drive from downtown Summerland. 35 years experience in boarding horses. Very friendly environment.

Thanks to everyone who turned out for the "Christmas in the Country" horse rides on Dec 29, 2018. Had a great time - the weather was perfect! We look forward to it again next year.

The Red Barn Ranch was excited to - once again - have the Summerland Beauty Pageant contestants and their "little buddies" visit us for an fun evening of "line dancing" led by Lee Parkinson and her assistant - Izzy Gorman. They learned two varieties of line dancing - and it was amazing to see how quickly these kids caught on!!! Everyone seemed to be having fun and it was a blast to watch. Afterwards, they enjoyed some refreshments and then gathered around a bonfire and sang Christmas songs.

THE RED BARN RANCH

The Red Barn Ranch offers a wide variety of services and activities in the community. The following is an outline of these services.

VACATION RENTAL

We offer ranch style accommodations in a relaxed home-away-from-home atmosphere. A fully furnished private suite with 2 bedrooms, dining and living room, bathroom, and kitchenette. We have a private courtyard to relax in, as well as use of large yard.

The Red Barn Ranch is always busy with many activities. Below are some of those services. Please note all packages can be modified to meet your personalized requirements. Contact us for prices.

BIRTHDAY PARTIES
Birthday parties for any ages. An hour of riding followed by an hour for eating, bon fire, roasting hot dogs or marshmallows and opening presents.

TRAIL RIDES
Trail rides are available on a variety trails. Flat rides for the novice riders on the TCT or more mountainous trails for the experienced rider. Before each ride we go over the basics of riding if you are a beginner. Lunch options are also available upon request.

HORSE BOARDING
We offer horse boarding. Please call for more details.

RIDING LESSONS
Riding Lessons are offered to all ages. Younger children we start with basics, ie balance, just being comfortable around and on the horse. Then we progress at your own pace. We do a combination of ground work and riding.

HORSE LEAD LINES
These lead lines are for smaller children (or older) who are not able to ride on their own but just want the experience. We lead the children around in areas they feel comfortable on the farm.

HORSE THEORY CLASSES
In the winter months, we offer Horse Theory Lessons. These classes cover the care of horses, learn about feeding, first aid, etc. All the things you don’t have time to cover during riding lessons.

HORSE CAMPS
We are in our 13th year of offering kids horse camps in the summer as well. Details vary so contact us for further information. Ages start approximately 8 years of age.

HORSE OBSTACLE COURSE
We are presently developing our new Horse Obstacle Course. This is a great way to challenge you and your horse and develop and great working relationship. Our course will be open to all our boarders, and also to the public upon reservation. Fees applicable.

DUSTY BOOT
We are very excited to introduce
***** “THE DUSTY BOOT” ****** A unique Western decorated venue for a wide variety of private events or functions. Birthdays, family reunions, meetings, retreats, weddings, staff parties, etc. Contact us for more information.

WEDDINGS
Quaint, western style venue for smaller weddings. Unique setting for unique weddings.

RETREATS
We can also accommodate smaller retreats with a variety of the different services mentioned above. Contact us to discuss your personalized needs.

SCHOOL EVENTS
We have had school children, students from other countries, etc visit the Red Barn Ranch to enjoy a variety of personalized packages.

DINNER PARTIES
We will be doing some “pilot” trials of dinner parties this year. Check our page for upcoming events.

COUNTRY CHRISTMAS HORSE RIDES
Every winter, just “after” Christmas we host our annual “COUNTRY CHRISTMAS” at the Red Barn Ranch. Mark it on your calendar. It is an afternoon of lead line horse rides in our arena. We have a concession on site and bon fire to keep you warm, and roast marshmallows. A great day for the family.

COMMUNITY EVENTS
As well we like to support the community by participating in local festivals such as Summerland Light up, Action Fest Parade and rides in the park.
