Today we had a male neutered brown tabby cat brought into the clinic, who had unfortunately been hit by a car outside the clinic and was deceased. We would love to find closure for the owners of this poor cat. Hello! We are short-staffed at the moment and thus will be closing for lunch daily for the next while until we are back running at full-speed. We will close from 12:30-1:30pm daily and will check voicemails upon our return. Hello Everyone,

We just wanted to update you on our hours over the next week and a half.

We will be open on Monday June 28th ONLY for food sales or prescription pick-ups that were pre-ordered. We will not have a Doctor on the premises and will not be seeing patients. If there is an emergency please continue to call our number and we will direct you to the right place.

We will be CLOSED on July 1st for Canada Day. Again, call our main phone number and you will be prompted to reach the emergency veterinarian on call.

Also note that our supplier is having difficulties with deliveries and there may be up to a week delay in special food orders or large medication orders. Please check your supplies and let us know as soon as possible to get your refills. Availability may be beyond our control.

Hello Everyone,

If you are calling and unable to get through on our phone lines it appears there is again an issue with Telus and Shaw phone lines connecting. I have spoken with Telus and they are aware of the issue and working on it. If you cannot get through, please email us at [email protected]

Arrow Lake Veterinary Hospital will be CLOSED over the Easter Weekend from April 2nd until April 5th, reopening April 6th. Should your pets require care during this time please call our main phone line, 250-365-3665, and follow the prompts to get to the emergency doctor on call.

If you think you might run out of your pet's medication during this time please call us soon to refill! We require 24 hours for all medication refills.

Hello Castlegar! If you are trying to call us and get the recording "all circuits are full", please call your phone provider and let them know the issue. We are with Shaw and unable to receive calls from Telus Landlines. If you are able to get through, it appears you cannot hear us. I've spent the last 4 hours trying to solve the issue with Telus and Shaw to no avail. They both don't think their end is the problem. If you cannot reach us at our main line, 250-365-3665, try emailing [email protected]. If it is an emergency you can call 250-608-2364 however this phone is not monitored constantly.

Arrow Lake Veterinary Hospital will be CLOSED Dec 24-27. During this time all emergencies will go to West Kootenay Animal Hospital located at 8450 Green Gables Rd, Trail. Please call our main phone number, 250-365-3665, and you will be transferred to the emergency line.

Over the New Year’s weekend, Dec 31-Jan 3, we are the hospital on-call for emergencies only. We will be open for food and prescription pick-up on Dec 31, but CLOSED Jan 1-3 unless an emergency.

Please ensure you have enough mediation and food to get through the holidays. If you require a refill, please inform our receptionist by Friday, Dec 18th at the latest so that we are able to order the medication if we are out of stock.

Hello Everyone,

We just wanted to update everyone that with the increase in COVID-19 cases in the region we are no longer allowing owners into the exam rooms. We have lots of space in the lobby for you to wait (with a mask!) while we examine your pet and then the doctor can speak with you in the lobby. If you require an exception to this, just let our receptionist know and we will see what we can do. Of course, if you are showing ANY signs of illness, we ask that you reschedule your appointment or make arrangements with us to avoid your entry into the building.

Hello everyone!

We just wanted to let you know that we are down to 1 Veterinarian in the hospital this month. In order to see as many patients as possible we have our staff working overtime and are rescheduling some non-essential appointments into November. We should be back to full capacity in about 3 weeks!

In the meantime, we are trying our best to see all currently scheduled surgeries as well as emergencies that come in. We will do our absolute best to help all emergency needs and may need to reschedule non-essential visits if we are over capacity. The other veterinarians in the area are aware of our situation and have graciously offered to help wherever they can if needed. Thank you to the amazing community we live in!

Please be patient during this time and we look forward to seeing all your amazing furry family members happy and healthy!
