My boy Gray is still at PALS Animal Life Savers and honestly, is pretty shut down in the adoption center. This is how he looks, basically all the time. He enjoys pets, and LIKES them, and he'll allow me to take him out and sit him on my lap. But his unhappiness is palpable.

So we'd like to offer you a chance to get to know him - Gray is available for foster to adopt. This means you apply as a foster at http://PALScats.org and if you're accepted, you can take my man home on a trial basis.

This is good for him because it gets him out of the adoption center, and good for you because you'd get to know him. Other cats in your house are okay, but we ask that he go to a quieter home (so no parties or rowdy kids, please). And definitely no dogs.❤️

Edit!: Howie is going to the Cat Cafe in Peabody tomorrow! You can meet him there!

Meet Howie! This tiny bro is 2 years old and has a moderate amount of brain cells. His cell count makes him slightly more intelligent than your average orange cat, but it's still low enough to make him adore EVERYONE, no questions asked. All humans = friend. Cats = small friends. Dogs? = unsure but he'd probably assume they were weird looking cats.

Howie is very sweet, loves affection (including belly rubs), and can't wait to get the heck out of the adoption center (he's really bored). Want to be his forever person and get to boop that nose freckle? Apply at http://PALScats.org ❤️

Thank y'all for being so supportive in last night's mess. I'm not going back to read any new comments at this point because I don't want to feel any crappier.

THAT SAID, unrelated to cats: on Wednesdays I try to go to bingo. It's my one fun and silly social thing break every week. Want to come? I think I'm going solo tomorrow and it would be neat to meet and hang with some of you!

Woke up at 5am to scoot across town and check the trap - no luck. I don't typically leave traps out overnight but catching mama needs to happen before she has her kids. The good news is, she was spotted again last night and her nesting spot was confirmed. The bad news is, she's smart as heck and ignored the trap near it.

I refreshed the food and I'll be going back a couple of times today to check, and the homeowners will continue to peek for me too. Otherwise my day will be spent continuing to socialize at that 17 cat situation, and then I have an orientation with tonight, so I'll be able to help with future transport intake days. Yay!

Lynn Animal Control will be hosting a rabies clinic. Saturday June 27, 2026, at the Breed Middle School Cafeteria from 9am - 1pm. All are welcome, you do not have to be a Lynn resident to attend.
All dogs must be leashed, and all cats and ferrets must be in a pet carrier.

Well this sucks and I really like this person and now I feel I have to explain myself. (Pls do not attack this person in the comments).

I made this post three days ago, expecting to catch mama cat the day I went out. This would mean I'd need immediate supplies (but please note I did not state it was an emergency). I didn't see her that day. I spent 8 hours outside in the heat, with no cat sightings and only a sunburn to walk away with.

This isn't my day job. It doesn't pay anything. I haven't filed my non-profit paperwork because my donations are rare, and I tell people when they ask if they can donate, that I'm not a legal non-profit and often suggest they donate to PALS Animal Life Savers instead. Folks often purchase from my wishlist, which makes fostering SO MUCH EASIER for me. PALS isn't in the financial position to provide foster food/litter either. In monetary donations, I receive less than $500/year.

I don't do adoptions - PALS does. So no money is made there, and I'm glad for this partnership. I have a Patreon blog that helps supplement cat food, but to be honest, I haven't updated it in two months. This makes me about $90/month, which covers about half of the cat food and litter I go through.

Why have I been so quiet there? Because I've been working hard on a) behavioral rehabbing SEVENTEEN CATS in all of my time off and b) secretly working on opening a cat shelter. These two things have taken all of my time and spoons behind the scenes.

On top of regular fostering, trapping attempts, volunteering at PALS 1-2x/week. I have three day jobs, none of which make me a lot of money, but I choose this life and schedule because it leaves me time for rescue. I tattoo a couple of days a week, which wrecks my body (chronic illness). I run a pop up market in Salem, I occasionally read tarot, and I am an artist that vends my work at other pop up markets.

I don't ever want to feel like I'm doing something sketchy or wrong. I don't want to mislead anyone.

Anyway. I had the trap set for mama cat all weekend, with the owners watching it. Today, I had morning therapy, went to the PALS adoption center for William, and then went straight back to try and trap mama cat. Today I could only be there for a few hours. Tomorrow morning I'll be over there again at 5am.

I don't know. This whole situation is upsetting.

Second! William was adopted out of foster today! He is a 6 month old that was very fearful when he arrived in foster a bit over a month ago. But then we gave him some foster kittens to befriend, and he blossomed!

Sure, this blossoming included some mild terrorism (red paint, destroyed toilet paper rolls, etc), but he is loved nonetheless. His new home includes two humans, a kitty friend, and a large dog that he is going to adore tormenting.

Happy tails, William!
