Pelmac Stables English riding lessons, horse boarding and training. Located 20 minutes southwest of Saskatoon, towards Pike Lake.

Pelmac Stables is owned by Diana Pella and run with the help of her daughter Zoë MacDougall. Started with the intent of having a home for their personal horses, the stable facilities were expanded over the years as needed to support their growing client base. Today, Pelmac Stables offers year-round horse boarding and english riding lessons from beginners to advanced. Pelmac Stables is the owner of

KWPN stallion Talmé. Pelmac Stables is located in the Pike Lake area, 20 minutes southwest of Saskatoon.

Leadline classes are best suited to young riders, up to 7 years, meeting a horse for the first time!
30-40 minutes total, participants meet the horse in the stable and we will do some grooming to get to know their horse before heading into the arena. We will go for a short ride, 10-20 minutes, with the instructor keeping the horse on a lead rope, then we finish back in the barn with feeding the horse treats!

Were you looking for riding lessons this spring or summer? As the weather warms up, beginner lessons will be booking farther ahead 🐴

We have:
•Openings for Sunday mornings available to start mid-May
•We may have some Saturdays open starting July 18 (we should be able to confirm those dates by mid-May)
•Friday evenings available starting in May
•Wednesday mornings available to start in April!

Spots in the July 4 Rookie Riders and July 14-16 camp are 50% booked. July 28-30 and August 11-13 are 25% booked. If you’re interested in any of these dates (especially if you’re trying to coordinate with a friend!) it’s best to register early so you get your preferred date 🐴

🦄🐴 Single-day Rookie Riders camps: For children new to horses or with minimal experience, 5-9 years old.
•July 4

🦄🐴 Three day camps: We’ll have camps suitable for complete beginners, through lower-level jumping!

With all the end-of-summer excitement, we forgot to share about our trip to the Grasswood Horse Park Mountain Trail Course 🐴

The stars aligned and we were able to organize a long-awaited trip to the horse park, and WOW 🤩 did we ever have a an amazing day!

The facility? Beautiful and unique.
The horses? Brave and willing.
The riders? Skilled and adventurous.

We love having a variety of riders in our barn and their diverse interests!

Some of us compete… some of us don’t.
Some of us like to stay in the arena… some of us like to get out on adventures!
Some of us like to have silly fun… some of us keep our training more serious and focused.
Some of us like to jump… some of us like to stay a little closer to the ground!
Some of us can still count our age on our fingers… some of us are looking forward to having a “century ride” with our favourite mount 💫
Some of us own a horse… some of us don’t.

What do we all have in common? A shared enjoyment of spending time with horses!

Come ride with us 🌟 We currently are able to accommodate beginners on school horses, experienced riders on a lease horse, and riders with their own horses 🦄

A lot of the time when we think of the kind of horse that “needs” to go to a trainer, we think of young horses getting started under saddle, and horses displaying undesirable behaviours or habits.

Other reasons why a person might seek out a trainer for their horse:
•To regain fitness after a winter off- get a head start on summer!
•For their horse to gain further experience in a particular discipline- such as jumping, or dressage
•To help the horse gain confidence in their own body, balance, and abilities- especially with green or growing horses!
•To support the owner in following a rehabilitation program provided by their vet post injury- consistency is key in regaining strength and condition!
•To improve the horse’s response off the rider’s cues, or help teach them new responses or movements
