✨Staff Highlight: Chantel✨

For those of you who have not already met our newest Pack Leader, here’s a little intro! Chantel has been working hard the past 3 months, surpassing expectations and truly becoming a loved and valued member of our team!💞

“Hi, I’m Chantel, and if there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I absolutely love dogs.
Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve had a deep love for animals—especially dogs. I started volunteering at the Shuswap SPCA when I was just 9 years old and continued for many years. In that time convinced my parents to adopt two of our own dogs. That experience really sparked my passion for working with animals and taught me the importance of patience, compassion, and connection.
I grew up with two beloved family dogs and got my own dog Ranger a Rottweiler at 19. Before he came into my life I didn’t fully understand what unconditional love was, he changed my life for the better and made me want to pursue my dream of working with dogs.
My life pretty much revolves around my own dog Scout, a Border Collie, Maremma. I take him everywhere with me. He’ll be joining me on pack hikes!
As a Pack Hike Leader, I love spending my days outdoors with the dogs, making sure they’re having fun, staying safe, and enjoying the adventure.
When I’m not out on the trail with the pack, you’ll usually find me outside doing something active. I love camping, hiking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, paddle boarding, kayaking, and fishing—especially when I can share those moments with my dog by my side!”

✨EMMA & SCRUFFY✨

These two adorable pups are on the hunt for their forever home! They are currently staying with us at The Canine Hub while we find them the perfect placement! They can be placed together or separately.

I’m going to preface this next bit by saying that, generally, I have not been a fan of Beagles in the past but Emma is one of the happiest, most joyful dogs I have ever met. She is always excited to see me, she loves every activity we try with her and she just puts her best foot forward each and everyday! Notoriously terrible off leash by breed standards, we have been working hard to get Emma’s off leash skills solid to break this mold and she has risen to the occasion amazingly 🥹👏🏻 Although, *continued, intentional, and persistent* training will be REQUIRED if the new owner would like to have her off leash reliably moving forward.
She is friendly with people, kids, dogs, cats, farm animals, and basically everyone she meets! She is a social butterfly and would THRIVE in a busy, active household! Emma is also crate trained and extremely food motivated.
🚩Emma needs a SECURE enclosed yard and can be an escape artist.
🚩True to breed, Emma knows her worth and isn’t afraid to. Tell. Everyone. Loudly.
🚩Do not leave your sandwiches unattended.

Scruffy is a 9 year old Schnauzer who is the sweetest soul! Although starting his senior years, Scruffy is still extremely active, having no issues hiking everyday for over an hour, this guy is sturdy, and healthy as a horse!
He LOVES snuggles, pets and plenty of attention, and would make a fantastic companion for someone who wants to give a great dog the best golden years!
Scruffy is reliable off leash, however his hearing can be weaker at greater distances so a smaller circumference is recommended or keep a long line on.
Scruffy is friendly and good with people, kids, cats, and farm animals. Scruffy is good with most dogs but doesn’t like intact males and can be grumpy with larger males in general. Scruffy is crate trained.
🚩Scruffy will bark when excited or when someone comes to door
If anyone is interested in Emma and/or Scruffy please email [email protected]

What a cool dog!🔥

The last few weeks getting to know and work with Elva’s have truly been some of my favourite weeks with a Board and Train. Elvis learned a lot of new skills and a better understanding of his body and power. We worked on harnessing that potential into productive outlets, the most notable of which was definitely disc!

We built focus, clarity, and thoughtfulness around his actions, with emphasis on his Markers, “down” and “place” as well as starting heel foundations and “out”.

When Elvis arrived he was pushy with literal BIG DOG ENERGY, but he lacked focus and his brain was scattered and his “action first, questions later” attitude has gotten him into some hot water previously. This is a dog that has a LOT to give but needs direction and trust to thrive! ✨
My goal for his training was to create a solid foundation that could continue to blossom after he went home.
His family set out on their training journey to bring more harmony into their home dynamic, and although training (especially with a GSD 😉) is never done, he’s off to a damn good start!
Thanks buddy, I fully enjoyed our time together and I’m excited for your mom to start her Sport Dog Mom Era 😈

We are SUPER excited to be hosting Lisa Petterson this month at The Canine Hub for a K9 Fitness and Agility Foundation seminar!
Lisa is a true pro in her field, having competed on an international level in agility on multiple occasions. Her passion for correct canine conditioning is a true asset and we are so lucky to be working with her this month!
This is an excellent opportunity for not only teams looking to get into dog sports but also those interested in correct physical conditioning and training for your dog. This helps support and keep their body in its best shape for as long as possible!
The afternoon will be focussed on Agility Foundations which would be a great opportunity for anyone looking at starting agility with their dog!
The workshop is conveniently split into two groups with the option of signing up for the full day if you would like to (I definitely recommend it😉)!

*absolutely crying while writing this post*😭🖤

OUR RAVEN GIRL FOUND HER FOREVER HOME🩷🩷🩷

To say I don’t have the words to describe the emotional journey we have been on with this girl over the last year would be an understatement. From finding her running around on the highway to alllll the vet visits trying to figure out why she wasn’t digesting, so learning she has the biggest heart that was so desperate to find its place in the world.
She now has that love that she has always deserved so much😭 Raven will be living with her new brother Rider in a long time German Shepherd savvy home, with room to run everyday and (more importantly for Raven 😉), a snuggly bed to sleep in each night! I knew Carolyn and her family were the ones when they told me “I hope you don’t mind we let our dogs sleep on the bed”😭🥰
To say this is Ravens dream home would be an understatement, and I am beyond grateful and so full of joy for her!😭🩷

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of her journey! Everyone who donated to help with her medical bills, everyone who posted and shared her story and asked their friends, thank you thank you thank you!
A special thank you to Jess, for helping look after Raven and giving her the best home and snuggles whenever we were away!
Another special thank you to . This is the rescue you want to work with, hands down and I will always be so thankful that we stumbled into each others lives🫶🏻🥺

This dog challenged me, pushed me, motivated me more then I could of imagined and I will always be grateful for our year together Raven girl 🩷 no, go live your bestest life girly, we are all cheering for you!!

An little insight into The Canine Hub’s team member: ☀️Crystalee ☀️

Hi everyone! Crystalee here!

I’ve had a lifelong passion for dogs, growing up with them and developing a deep understanding of their behavior, needs, and personalities.
My journey began at a young age, walking and pet sitting neighborhood dogs. Over the years, I’ve built on that foundation through hands-on experience at doggy daycares, in retail pet stores, raising and training puppies, and fostering animals.

My fiancé and I share our home with two Australian Shepherds, a Catahoula Leopard Dog, and a cat who’s convinced she’s one of the pack. In my off time, I enjoy dog sports, outdoorsy activities, DIY creating and gardening, etc.

I’m passionate about continuing my education in canine behavior, nutrition, biomechanics, and general training. My goal is to be able to use my skills to help both dogs & their humans build stronger, healthier relationships.

Looking forward to working with you and your dog!

We are sad but also excited to announce that September 2025 will be the last month we offered structured boarding at The Canine Hub!
Although we have enjoyed these last (what will be 3) years, we have some exciting new adventures 👀 on the horizon that we will be focusing on in the coming years! These will take up much of our time and it has always been important to us that your dogs get the best vacation they can while you are away.

The second reason we are withdrawing from this program is that we would like to spend our own weekends and holidays with our daughter and our dogs so we can enjoy our time more as a family.🩵

We would also like to dedicate more time to our foster dog program and creating the space to ensure we can house and rehab as many dogs as we can in the future!💙

As you can tell we are far from slowing down🤪 and this decision has taken us a while to make as we so enjoy spending time with your dogs and loved making their time away special!

All bookings are open this summer (with some exceptions) so please get in touch with any dates!!🥳
Thank you all for your continued love and support!
