I've heard a lot of talk about hourly rate when working with horses...
here is my opinion even though you didn't ask, here it is.
Training per hour is not applicable in my opinion .
You're not paying the person for the hour.
you're paying for the years of time they've devoted their life to making great horses.
Hourly rates are not comparable when working with animals.
If it's dogs or horses& training them if your on a hourly timeline shortcuts will be made when training animals you have a timeline that can be made in a month or three months..
I charge for individual rides. And it's an assement session to see where the horse is at in its training and what it will need to progress. For an assement I charge 100$ and that is not an hourly thing son of my assements have been hours long. Some have been ywenty minutes,
When it comes to an animal and having the knowledge of when to get on aswel as when to get off. Hiring the wrong person can cost more money than hiring the right person.
Do your homework and if someone says they ride a certain amount of hours per ride, here's what I have too say horsemanship first. Know when to pick a fight and when to give credit when a animal shows try sometimes I'll ride a young c**t and if I see a extra effort ten minutes in that's the ride it will receive that day.
