Monday motivation to help our watershed and scoop 2! ✌️🌟 As we are in fishing season it’s important to dispose of your lines, and fish remains properly! Typically there are always disposal sites nearby. 🎣 🌊
We love our watershed and want to keep waste out! ❌ Helping our waterways, aquatic life and wildlife who rely on the local streams, rivers and lakes we also fish from! 🎣 🦌 🐻 🦆
So please wrap up your lines and be considerate when disposing, look out for these disposal sites and any other litter you can remove to help our earth! 🚮 💚

Have you ever seen one of these and wondered why is there a ditch here? 🤔
Often it’s a rainwater swale which is a shallow, vegetated channel that collects stormwater and slows down the flow of water until it reaches a local waterway. 🌧️🌊
The downside? Litter or pet waste gets washed directly to our watershed, or like you can see here… goes direct to the Georgian Bay. 🤯 So please always scoop the p**p and any litter that you find while out in your community.

☀️Today I wanted to spread a little feel Good Friday message I stumbled upon on my morning walk at the Thornbury Pier by the park. 💌

We love that Pickering is offering biodegradable smart litter pick up bags. While you are on the waterfront, take a look at this, available by the parking lot 🅿️ take a bag and scoop the p**p + any other litter or pet waste you find on your walk! 🌊
There are plenty of opportunities to dispose your waste properly so please do so. 🚮

🐕 As a responsible dog owner we always scoop our pets p**p, but while we are using the bag we might as well fill it! Scoop another p**p or any litter you find on your walk 🚮
All the small things we could be doing for our environment:

Upcycling what we can and properly recycling ♻️
Mending the items we already own 🪡
Thrifting instead of fast fashion 🧣
Walking when we can vs driving 🚗
