Currently Hillcrest Animal Hospital employs 4 Veterinarians and 14 staff members housed within a 6,000 square foot facility dedicated to the care of pets in the Quinte area. All aspects of small animal medical and surgical practice are performed within the facility. We are immensely proud of what we have accomplished and believe in the care we give to all of our patients.

Meet Jane!

We’re thrilled to have welcomed Jane to our team this summer! She brings a wealth of in-clinic experience, having worked both at the front desk and hands-on with patient care in general practice as well as emergency veterinary settings. Her calm, capable presence and deep understanding of clinic flow make her an incredible asset to our front-line team.

Outside the clinic, Jane is passionately involved in animal rescue through Just Paws Animal Rescue, where she dedicates her time to helping pets in need. Her strong commitment to animal welfare shines through in everything she does.

Jane is devoted to supporting clients through every stage of pet ownership, from happy moments to the tougher ones. We are extremely lucky to have her on our team, and we know you’ll love her just as much as we do!

Max’s Dental Day! 🦷🐾

Max recently came in for a professional dental cleaning, and he was such a superstar! As part of every dental procedure, we perform full-mouth dental radiographs. These X-rays help us see what’s happening below the gumline—the part you can’t spot just by looking.

During Max’s dental, we discovered a broken tooth (circled in red in the photo). We were able to safely remove it, and Max was back to his happy, normal self the very next day—likely relieved to have that painful tooth gone!

✨ Why dentals matter:
Professional dental care is a vital part of your pet’s overall health. While non-anesthetic cleanings may make teeth look cleaner on the surface, they can’t assess or treat issues beneath the gums, where many dental problems start.
