☀️💧 It’s that time of year again…
When 25°C can feel more like 30°C+ in the sun, and keeping our pups safe becomes just as important as getting them their exercise 💛
As much as I carry water, stick to shady routes, seek out cool grass, and adjust our pace, heatstroke is a very real and serious risk for dogs. Once temperatures start climbing, I promise to closely monitor your pup for signs of overheating and will always use my discretion to modify or cut a walk short if I feel it’s too hot for them.
A quick potty walk around the block is always better than risking a medical emergency. Your dog’s safety will always come before the clock, and I appreciate your trust and understanding when those decisions need to be made 🐶
🚨 Signs of heatstroke to watch for:
• Excessive panting or difficulty breathing
• Thick, excessive drool
• Bright red gums or tongue
• Weakness, lethargy, or stumbling
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Disorientation or confusion
• Collapse or loss of consciousness
Let’s keep our pups safe, hydrated, and happy all summer long! ☀️💦🐾
Thank you for trusting me with your furry family members. Here’s to a safe summer full of tail wags, shady walks, and plenty of water breaks 💛
