✨ new adoptable - meet Judith ✨

Female | ~1.5 years old | 25 pounds | Medium energy | Lives with another dog | Hasn’t met kids | No cats please, shows prey drive | From Mexico | Fostered in Toronto | Playful & curious | A real sweetheart

Are you ready to fall head over paws? Meet Judith!

Picture this: walking through your door and being met with eyes full of love, happy hops, tail wags, and gentle kisses. Oh, and zoomies of pure joy—that’s life with JUDITH. Just about 1.5 years old, she’s full of playful energy, affection for her humans, and she’s so ready to become your best friend forever.

Here’s what we know about JUDITH: she’s curious, smart, and affectionate. Having recently moved from Mexico to Canada, JUDITH is busy learning what it means to feel safe and loved in a new living environment. Sudden movements and loud noises can make her pause, though with a little patience, she becomes more comfortable. You’ll soon see that she’s slowly but surely blossoming into the sweet, silly girl she is. In her foster’s care, she’s been building confidence, which is something we love to see!

Toys, puzzle games, and tug-of-war are some of this scruff’s favourite activities. Once playtime is over, she’s happy to curl up nearby and be close to her people. While she might take some time to warm up to people initially, she really does have a deep desire to connect. She’s also got a fun, goofy streak and a strong desire to explore! Oh, and yes, she also continues to work on leash training.

She thrives with another calm, confident dog who can show her the ropes and share in the fun. Her ideal home would be just as calm, with adults or older kids who can offer guidance, their time to play, and the chance for adventure. Know that she’s curious but cautious when meeting new dogs and prefers to meet them at her own pace.

Overall, having a consistent routine in place with JUDITH is key, as it helps create predictability throughout her day. If you’re looking for a dog who’ll make you laugh and quietly steal your socks—JUDITH is ready to meet you. Ready for your next great love story? Apply to adopt JUDITH at www.saveourscruff.org 💞✨

✨ new adoptable - meet Sadie ✨

Female | 6 pounds | 6 years old | Low energy | Limited exposure to kids | Previously lived with cats | Coexists with a dog | From Ontario | Fostered in Fergus | Affectionate & sweet

She’s a gal who would spend all day with you if she could. Meet SADIE! At 6 years old, SADIE is affectionate with her trusted humans, a great little walker, and a big fan of basking in the sunshine. She’s been living in Fergus, and with every new day, her confidence is growing with the support of her foster family. We love to see her slowly but surely becoming more adventurous!

As her foster family’s first foster experience, we hear that not only have things gone largely as expected but that it’s been a rewarding experience! They’ve found implementing boundaries to be straightforward, and overall, this gal looks to her people for guidance.

While SADIE is both affectionate and sweet, she can also be hesitant. You’ll see her nerves show up when meeting new people, but she’s a curious gal and always up for saying hello regardless. A calm, quieter home environment is likely one that would suit her best as she continues to learn that her humans will set her up for success in each new scenario. Similarly, a home with dog-savvy kiddos, if any, would be best! Advocating for her space is what she needs, though know that she was happy to accept pats from a younger child recently.

A routine that has worked well for SADIE includes both structured activities and plenty of love and affection! She’s been enjoying a short walk in the morning and is building up to longer afternoon walks. Out on those walks she appears interested in other dogs, though she’s typically indifferent to the dog she’s currently living with. Living with a lower-energy dog might be more her speed!

Interested in living life with SADIE? Apply to adopt at www.saveourscruff.org 💞✨

1 week till we’re back in Mexico for another spay & neuter trip with

We might just hit our 3,000th spay/neuter surgery. It’s important to us to find ways to not only help dogs today, but also prevent more dogs in need.

Check out these pictures of our last clinic where we helped support 165 animals get snipped. Our volunteers flew from Toronto to spend 2 days volunteering all day to support pre & post surgical care. We also sponsored the surgeries for the local community, provided products such as dog food and other items. All while working alongside some amazing vets and the volunteer team of who put a lot of time into the planning and ex*****on.

Our goal is another 150 animals! And thank you to anyone who participated in our tattoo fundraisers this January-March for helping make this happen!

Biggest take away — people love their animals 💞✨

✨ new adoptable - meet Kamelia ✨

Female | 1.5 years old | 43 pounds | Medium energy | Enjoys meeting other dogs & kids | Hasn’t met cats | From Mexico | Fostered in Toronto | Sweet & loyal

No one’s perfect and all, but this scruff might be! I mean, have you seen her Dorito ears? Meet KAMELIA. With a name that quite literally means “perfect,” we’re starting to think this gal is just that! Happy-go-lucky and sweet as can be, KAMELIA is so full of love for the people in her life. She never fails to burst with excitement while greeting her humans in the morning, which might just be the best part of their day! P.S. It could be yours if you decide to adopt.

Life right now for KAMELIA looks like living in a house with a yard in Toronto (though she doesn’t need a yard to be her happiest self!). It’s a change compared to living in a shelter environment in Mexico, and KAMELIA is taking it all in stride. Since the big move, she’s become accustomed to her new environment, swiftly dusting off any shyness. We mentioned the yard because it’s become one of her happy places. She’ll have you know that she’s already explored every inch of it! Keep in mind this gal would do well in a range of home environments. Her playful side is starting to emerge in her foster’s care and you’d best believe she’s a fan of treats.

As we mentioned earlier, KAMELIA loves people. Meeting kids is also fun for her, though they should be aware that she tends to jump. Would she do well in a home with older, dog-savvy kids? 100%. This scruff lives with another dog in the home, and while she hasn’t met cats, she’s likely ok to meet them as she hasn’t shown much, if any, prey drive.

To get into some of her training, KAMELIA has been warming up to walking on a leash and is now comfortable using one. Her fav part of a walk is definitely stopping to smell the roses… and just about everything else! She’s excelling when it comes to housetraining and she’s doing quite well with crating, putting herself to bed there at night.

✨ new adoptable - meet Wiley ✨

Male | 4 years old | 38 pounds | Medium energy | Comfortable with kids | Working through dog reactivity | No cats please, shows prey drive | From Mexico | Fostered in Toronto | Goofy & playful

Meet WILEY. Possibly the sweetest, goofiest scruff you’ll meet. And there are a lot of scruffs out there! Lots of walks, time to play, and, ofc, time to nap are the keys to his heart. Oh, and throw in some cuddles, and he’ll be the happiest guy around.

WILEY currently lives in a condo in Toronto and, with support from his foster family, has been becoming more independent. They’ve noticed that his love for toys is impressive, and no matter how many he has, he makes time to play with each! He’s also a big fan of time outside, and we think he’d make a great adventure buddy alongside his future adopters. Being adaptable is what has us thinking that WILEY would do well in most environments. As long as you’re committed to his training, he’s sure to show off his best self.

Overall, this scruff is a great walker who stays by his human’s side. With that in mind, it’s his anxiousness that can sometimes lead to him becoming reactive when passing other dogs on walks. Usually, this is the case if they get too close for comfort or if they bark. Working on controlled interactions has been helpful, and WILEY recently did great attending a trail pack walk, showing more curiosity with those dogs. Big strides indeed!

WILEY enjoys attention from kids and is happy to sit while accepting pets from them. We still think living with older kids, at least for now, would be best, as he can get excited and jumpy. Have more visitors, well, visiting? He’s content in his crate even with new people around and also happy to go up to them looking for affection. After a busy day of walks, exploring, and playing, WILEY is more than happy to chillax with you. Now, here’s the thing: he might want to kick back on the couch with you, but he’s learning to stay on his bed using the command “place.” He’ll get there!

Keen to adopt this goofy guy? Knew it! Apply today at www.saveourscruff.org ✨💞
