We neutered the wrong cat. 🤧

Remember yesterday’s post about signs from the universe? Well, the universe answered, and it did not whisper.

Yesterday, by mistake, our DBE boy got neutered. He wasn’t scheduled, it wasn’t the plan, and I had a whole future for him in my head.

First came shock. Then a long stare at the wall with cold coffee. Then a strangely calm thought: maybe this is exactly how it was supposed to go. Maybe he was never meant to be my future stud. Maybe he was meant to be someone’s whole world.

So meet , 13 weeks old. Dominant blue eyes DBE, velvet curls, zero breeding plans and a lot of opinions.

On Saturday he goes home to a family that has been waiting for him, and he’s arriving with one chapter already closed for them.

Do you believe in signs, or does the universe just have a strange sense of humor? Tell me below 👇

The entire Devon Rex breed exists because of one curly-coated stray who lived near an abandoned tin mine in England. Coincidence? I’m honestly not so sure anymore.

Do you believe in signs from the universe? Not the dramatic kind, but the quiet ones that only make sense later: the song that plays at exactly the right moment, the number you keep seeing, the stranger who says the one sentence you needed to hear.

In 1960, in a small town in Devon, a woman named Beryl Cox noticed a kitten with a wavy coat, enormous ears and the face of a tiny elf. His name was Kirlee, and every Devon Rex curled up on a sofa today, from Toronto to Texas to Dubai, traces back to that one moment when someone looked twice instead of walking past.

That’s the thing about signs, they never look like signs while they’re happening. They look like an ordinary Tuesday and a strange little kitten who somehow ends up rearranging your whole life.

Ask anyone who lives with a Devon and you’ll hear the same thing: you don’t really choose this cat, the cat chooses you. It’s the one who climbs onto your shoulder in the first five minutes and simply refuses to leave, as if that seat had been reserved for years.

And speaking of signs… something happened here today that I still can’t quite explain. I need a little time to process it, so tomorrow I’ll tell you everything. Stay close 🌙

Until then, tell me honestly: do you believe in signs, or do we just notice what we’re finally ready to see? And if a cat has ever been your sign, I’d genuinely love to hear that story.

Plot twist: the one in the sink is NOT a Devon Rex. The two on the counter are. 👀

The 2027 Devon Rex Season is officially calling. 🕊️ If you’ve been waiting for a sign to finally bring home a living piece of art, this is it.

We’re opening our Waiting List for 2027, and honestly, this one is going to be historic. This season isn’t only about the classic Devon charm: we’re expecting rare Dominant Blue Eyed (DBE) kittens, the kind of exclusivity collectors and breed purists around the world have been quietly hunting for.

Why does a Devon Rex change everything?
• The Texture: that iconic astrakhan coat, minimal shedding and maximum tactile luxury.
• The Soul: people call them “poodle cats” or “monkeys in cat suits,” we just call them shadows. They don’t simply live in your house, they live in your rhythm.
• The Look: that alien intelligence in their eyes that makes you realize you’re no longer the one in charge.

How to secure your spot:
✨ Paid Waiting List: for those who know exactly what they want and refuse to compromise. First-choice privileges across all 2027 litters. DM us “2027” for details.
🌱 Standard Waiting List: for those waiting for the perfect moment. You’ll be notified once our priority families have made their picks. Apply via the link in bio.

Your future soulmate is already in the works. Save this post so it’s right here when 2027 arrives. 🇨🇦✨

8 finals, and she still napped in her show cage like it was a lazy Sunday 😴

This weekend at the TICA Nauticats show in Québec City, our graduate was called back to the finals again and again: 2nd Best Allbreed Kitten, 2nd Best Shorthair Kitten, 3rd Best Allbreed Kitten three times, 3rd Best Shorthair Kitten, plus 4th and 7th Best Allbreed Kitten. That’s eight different judges’ rings and eight moments when someone held her up and decided: yes, this one ✨

If you’ve never met a Devon Rex in person, here’s what the ribbons don’t show: the huge velvet ears, the soft wavy coat that sheds far less than most cats, the way they follow you from room to room and settle on your shoulder like it’s their official job. Judges look at type, structure and coat. Families fall for the personality. Good news: you don’t have to choose 🤍

Many people with mild cat allergies find a Devon easier to live with. No cat is 100% allergen-free, so we’re always happy to talk honestly about what to expect.

Whether you dream about the show hall or simply want a healthy, social, beautifully typed Devon Rex curled up on your sofa, this is exactly what we breed for. Our 2027 waiting list is now open at devonrex-canada.ca 🔗 link in bio. We place kittens across Canada and the US.

So tell us: would your Devon be a show star or a full-time shoulder parrot? 👇

Fair warning: once a Devon Rex picks you, every other cat feels a little too ordinary 🤍

Meet our little treasure, . She is just 18 days old, she already has the ears, the curls and the attitude.

Devons grow into the kind of cat that follows you from room to room and settles on your shoulder before you’ve even sat down. They shed less than most cats, and many people with mild cat sensitivities find them easier to live with. No cat is truly allergen-free though, so we always suggest spending time with the breed first.

If you’ve been dreaming of a chocolate Devon or a DBE baby with those unreal blue eyes, the waiting list is where our families hear first, long before anything gets posted here. Raised underfoot in our home in Ontario, TICA registered, with families across Canada and the US.

Our waiting list is open, the link is in our bio 🤍

Be honest: would Kallati steal you with the ears or with the curls?

10/25/2026

Not a lamb, not a plush toy, not a sheepskin rug. This is , and yes, her coat really feels the way it looks 🐑

Run your fingers through a Devon Rex and you get it instantly: soft, springy, velvet-like curls, almost no fluff on your sweater, and a cat who thinks your hand exists only for chin scratches. Pinacolada has the softest coat in our home, the kind of curl you can see even in a blurry phone video.

She is one of our future mamas, which means one day her babies will carry these curls into new homes. If you’ve been dreaming of a Devon of your own, the details live on our website, link in bio 🤍

Tell me honestly in the comments: what did you think she was in the first second? 👇

She left our home as a tiny curly bean. Look who owns the camera now 🤎

Meet Waikiki Curly Pride, our graduate, now living her best life with Alamo Devons in the USA.

Chocolate tortie coat, velvet curls, those golden-green eyes and ears that could catch Wi-Fi from three states away. We’re not crying, you are.

This is why we love Devons: the face that follows you from room to room, the paws that always find your lap, the little pixie who believes every photoshoot is about her (it is).

Thank you, Alamo Devons, for loving her like this. Watching our babies grow into queens is the best part of what we do.

Ears, eyes or curls: what caught you first? 👇
