Big Dog Energy Building bonds between humans and dogs. My goal is to help dog owners create better bonds with their dogs. Dogs learn best when they are having fun.

I like to promote engagement, encourage play and create structure in the household. I put a strong focus on reward based learning. We will use a lot of food and toy rewards when teaching your dog new things.

"Sit" and "down" are duration behaviours. ✋🐩🚫

When you ask your dog for a sit or a down, the stay should be implied. Otherwise who decides when they should leave the position? Definitely your dog when it decides chasing a squirrel is much more fun than a boring ol' sit! 🦨🐕💨 😂

A solid sit and down with commitment to the stay portion is a fun process developed and strengthened by playing with your dog.

Self control is a skill.

Dogs with a developed sense of self control tend to not immediately act on their impulses. They tend to make better decisions and even look to their handlers for "permission" to engage in something they want.

Developing self control is easy and fun. Through games with progressive layers of challenge it is strengthened over time.

Luring is an important skill for your dog to know. 🫲🐕💨

It is a handy tool for teaching basic positions like sit or down and is even more useful when teaching more complex behaviours.
