Meatball is a five-month-old French Bulldog puppy with the cutest little cleft lip you’ve ever seen and a personality just as big as his name! This squishy-faced sweetheart is the perfect mix of sass, charm, and snuggles.

He loves going for walks (the more compliments he gets along the way, the better!) and never misses a chance to show off his adorable waddle. Because of his elongated palate, Meatball doesn’t go for super long walks, especially in the heat, but short strolls and playtime are right up his alley.

This little foodie is very motivated by treats and eats from an elevated slow feeder three times a day to help with his mild regurgitation. It’s part of his routine, and he does great with it!

He’s crate-trained and sleeps soundly through the night, dreaming of snacks, belly rubs, and probably a few stolen socks, because yes, he absolutely loves to steal socks. 🧦 You’ve been warned!

Meatball is also very social and loves playing with other dogs. Having another dog in the home would be wonderful for him, as he’s playful, energetic, and happiest when he has a buddy to romp around with. He also loves kids!

Potty training is still a work in progress, but he’s improving every day. Like every Frenchie, his sass is starting to shine through — a little attitude, a lot of personality, and endless laughs.

Meatball might be small, but he’s already a big presence in any room and even bigger in your heart. 💙 meatball is up to date on vaccination, microchiped, health checked and neutered

As many of you know, when we first opened back in 2020, we made one of the best friends I could ever ask for.
Many of you who have been following us from the very beginning know Diane — one of the kindest, most selfless souls to ever walk this earth. She isn’t just one of my best friends; she’s like a stronger version of me (lol). She stands her ground and demands respect for the rez dogs who have endured more than anyone could ever imagine.

For years, Diane has been on the frontlines — saving dogs and puppies from heartbreaking, unthinkable situations. We’re talking about dogs that have been stabbed for fun with machetes, shot with BBs, starved, and left literally skin and bones. Yet somehow, these dogs still have love in their hearts and hope in their eyes.

Every year it feels like the need grows — 20 dogs find homes, and 100 more need help. It’s a cycle that can break even the strongest hearts. But Diane keeps going. She is a light in a world that can often feel dark, and I’m beyond proud to call her my friend.

Right now, we have the opportunity to help 6 puppies and 1 cat with no eyes — but we need fosters to make that possible.

💕 Today’s a Big Day for Rusty! 💕

Rusty, who came into our care just a short time ago, is heading in for cherry eye surgery today. 🍀

🐾 What is Cherry Eye?
Cherry eye happens when a small gland in a dog’s third eyelid pops out of place, creating a red, swollen bump in the corner of the eye. It might look minor, but it’s actually quite uncomfortable and can cause ongoing irritation, dryness, or even long-term eye damage if left untreated.

❤️ Why Surgery is So Important
Fixing cherry eye helps prevent infection, restores proper tear production, and ensures that Rusty can live pain-free and see clearly. It’s a delicate surgery, but it will make a huge difference in his quality of life.

🐾 Meet Lily… the Sweetest Little Sidekick! 🐾

Lily is a sweet and playful 4-month-old bully mix who’s ready to wiggle her way into your heart! This happy girl loves everyone she meets dogs, cats, and people alike. She’s the perfect mix of snuggly and fun, always up for playtime and just as happy to curl up for a nap after. 💕

Lily was born with a little cleft lip, but it’s purely cosmetic and doesn’t cause her any issues at all it just makes her extra special and uniquely adorable.

She’s a superstar sleeper in her crate, does great in her pen, and is working hard on her house training. Like any puppy, she’s still learning the basics, but she’s smart, eager, and picks things up quickly with a bit of guidance and consistency.

Lily would thrive in a home with another friendly dog or a family that will keep her active, loved, and included in daily life. She’s ready to bring joy, laughter, and endless puppy kisses to her forever home. 🐶✨

🐾 In Honour of Billie 🐾

Many of you know the story of our sweet senior boy Billie, who was found outside of the Etobicoke Pet Valu — blind, deaf, unneutered, and in rough shape. Despite all he’s been through, Billie has shown us nothing but love and resilience. 💕

The amazing team at Pet Valu Etobicoke decided to dedicate their PAWS event in Billie’s honour, raising an incredible $364.95 to help cover the cost of his much-needed dental surgery coming up this month.

Billie’s journey hasn’t been easy — during his last dental attempt, he declined rapidly under sedation, but this time we’re taking every precaution and doing things differently to give him the care he deserves. 🩵Praying for good outcome!

We are so thankful to Pet Valu Etobicoke for believing in Billie and in our mission to give seniors and special needs dogs a second chance at life. 🙏
