Boone Run Equestrian has a spot coming available this fall on our paddock paradise track system!

Located near Stratford, ON

A track system encourages natural movement as horses travel along the track in search of forage, water, shelter and other resources. This set up can benefit every horse but is especially helpful in horses recovering from laminitis, horses transitioning to barefoot and other rehab cases. However, we have even seen improvements in an already “healthy” horse, especially with our many hills that help build muscle tone and keep horses fit.

Our board includes:
-over a kilometre of fully surfaced track that is poo picked daily

-a large run in shelter (50’ x 100’) bedded in deep sand for a comfy space to nap as well as additional smaller shelters and shade on track from trees

-Brand new horse safe fencing
a heated indoor arena (new footing being added soon)

-a 90’ by 220’ outdoor arena with premier equestrian fibre footing
custom vitamin and mineral mix fed daily

-horses checked over for illness and injury once daily and monitored all hours of the day

-Large tack locker in heated and air conditioned room (under construction now)

-Groomed trails for hacking

Sam and I’s track adventure today. Pro tip when building a track: put gates even where you don’t think you’ll need them.

Mr. Racoon wasn’t so happy about his poo fork elevator ride to the top of the fence for him to climb over. But I was going to have to start charging him board if he stayed any longer…

Out with the old, in with the new!

Now that the horses are on track and out of the way, we can finally replace the footing in their run in shelter. We are replacing the chips and dust base and adding some nice comfy sand for them to lay on inside!

Diefenbacher Contracting Ltd. is doing a wonderful job once again. I have demolished several of the ceiling fans in the shelter with much smaller machinery than they are currently using! They are amazing at what they do.

The horses are officially on track! We combined both herds today as well and everyone is getting along super well!

We have a few more things to add and improve upon, but the horses love it already. More videos to come…

Things sure are moving along quickly! Fencing is going in and we are finally getting sand in the arena!

The track so far!

Diefenbacher Contracting Ltd. has done a wonderful job of putting our track footing down! This will allow our horses to not only build stronger hooves as they walk along it to the different hay and enrichment stations but it will also allow them to stay virtually mud free!

Next up… Fencing!

I’m so excited to announce that we are putting in a Pasture Paradise track system for all our horses at Boone Run!

We built a ”test” track for six of our horses last summer with huge success! It helped one horse recover from laminitis, another transition to barefoot, horses with arthritis became much more limber, and even our young and healthy horses improved in ways we couldn’t imagine!

We are now building a much bigger, fully surfaced track system for all our horses at Boone Run to enjoy this fall.

Diefenbacher Contracting is doing a wonderful job on our new outdoor arena!

This is just the beginning! Next up is our track footing for our new paddock paradise system... (coming early fall 2022)
