WHO ARE WE….. AARF is a No Kill Rescue

AARF exists to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home abandoned, abused and unwanted animals. AARF was established in 1998. We work with local animal control to help dogs and cats; we take on extreme medical cases that require long term veterinary care. AARF uses a hands-on

approach to train and rehabilitate animals so that they may become family pets. Our program proves that the rate of successful placements is far higher if the animal is healthy, socialized, well trained and re-homed in an environment suited to his or her personality. AARF ensures that all dogs and cats that come into the rescue are fully vetted. Each and every one is vet checked, wormed, treated for fleas, spayed/neutered and microchipped. As well we take on extreme medical cases that require long term veterinary care ie heart worm cases, orthopedic cases, etc. AARF is strictly a not-for-profit rescue; we receive no funds from any agency, corporation or government. AARF relies soley on the kindness and generosity of the public and community.

We are so excited to announce that Bizzy has been officially adopted by her foster family 🐕 ❤️

Bizzy has blossomed so much since coming into the rescue. She is such a love bug and the sweetest girl.

She’s a very smart cookie too! Bizzy has excelled in training and has completed Levels 1, 2 and 3 🎓

We can’t thank Samantha and Evan enough for their commitment, care and love to Bizzy. We are so happy she has found such an amazing family to call her own ❤️

We are thrilled to announce that Yoda has found a forever home.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Einstein K9 for providing exceptional foster care to Yoda, enabling his remarkable growth.

The ultimate reward is his adoption by Carol, the owner's mother, who fell in love with Yoda while babysitting him during the owners' vacation.

Yoda, you are such a lucky boy. Your life may have started off poorly, but now you have the best life filled with so much love 🐕 ❤️

Up next is Felix, who we welcomed into AARF Rescue. Unfortunately his owners had to go into a long-term care facility.

Felix has some behaviour issues as well he needed some vet care. He’s now been vetted, had blood work done and received a much needed dental.

He is settling in nicely with Robin who is is working with Felix to help him settle in. We are so grateful to you Robin ❤️

Today we brought Felix a wonderful cat tree which he loves 🐈‍⬛ Thank you so much Tef Nut Shu ❤️

Meet adorable Ash who we’ve welcomed into the AARF family ❤️

At just a year and a half old, Ash is an old soul in a kitten’s body. Acting as the big brother to a rambunctious bonded kitten duo, he watches over their chaos with patience and quiet pride. He lets them climb all over him, bat at his tail, and even tug his ears; never once losing his gentle composure. When the whirlwind of play finally winds down, Ash lovingly bathes them before curling up for a well-earned nap at their side.

Ash’s big heart and strong paternal instinct make him an affectionate friend to other cats. Having come from a cat colony, he thrives with feline companionship and would do best in a home with at least one other cat. Whether that’s his playful “little brothers” or a new friend you already have.

With humans, Ash’s affection blooms slowly but beautifully. He’s only recently learned the joy of trusting people, and while he enjoys pets and attention, he appreciates a safe space and the time to build confidence at his own pace. Once he feels secure, Ash opens up his “bakery” to knead his world-famous biscuits and purr loudly while doing so.

We would like to introduce this sweetheart of a boy named Ben, who is a beautiful two year old silver tabby.

Ben is a handsome young man with a big personality and even bigger voice! Since coming into foster care, he’s blossomed into a playful, adventurous, and affectionate companion who knows exactly what he wants.

This handsome boy loves his food (and he’ll proudly announce when mealtime is overdue). When he’s not chasing toys or scratching happily on his post, you’ll find him perched by the window, keeping a close eye on the birds outside. Ben also gives the best head butts and enjoys being petted; though, like the independent gentleman he is, it has to be on his terms.

If you’re looking for a lively, loving cat with a strong sense of character and plenty of charm, Ben may just be your perfect match.

It’s been a while since our last post. We have had a busy summer and have welcomed many new rescues into the AARF family.

We’d like to introduce you to our two little sweethearts, Cole and Ember! Cole is a grey and white shorthair, 8 weeks old, and Ember is an orange and white shorthair, 8 months old.

These beautiful boys are now looking for their forever home. They are a bonded pair. Cole and Ember immediately adopted “brother status” upon meeting and have been inseparable since! These bonded boys are united by a shared mission in life: play!

Their wrestling matches rival the WWE – with Ember’s signature aerial pounce and Cole’s classic somersault dodge. Their zoomies know no bounds, and they’ll turn any room into an adventure zone. Balls, tunnels, wand toys – if it moves, they’re chasing it.

But don’t be fooled – these two aren’t all action. After a good play session, they’re just as eager to cuddle up. Both boys are massive purr machines who adore giving little kitty kisses and being picked up for a snuggle.

Social, family-friendly, and full of joy, Cole and Ember will keep your home lively, your heart full, and your lap warm. They’re a package deal: double the cats, double the love, double the fun!

Cole and Ember are the best friends who belong together – two sweet kittens, one fee: $350. This includes all of their vetting.

LOOK WHO’S READY ADOPTION 🩵

Can you please share in hopes to find Samy his purrfect home 🐈

Samy is an adorable character. He started out in hiding with his foster mom; not surprising given his time surviving in the wilds and fearful trapping rescue. With time and giving him space, Samy has blossom, and come out of his shell. He is very food driven which has helped tremendously  with just a shake of a treat bag now he comes running!

Samy’s foster mom Brenda is lovingly greeted at the door when she returns from running errands ❤️

In short, Samy is full of beans! He loves racing around, playing with his toys and hanging toy, but mostly he loves kicking and rolling in his towel on the bed. He loves playtime, purring and head pets. Samy especially likes his back petted and his cheeks rubbed.

He’s becoming good friends with Hudson the dog and likes to be near him.
With proper introduction, Samy would most likely be good in a home with a cat friendly cat.

Samy would be best suited to an adopter who is up for a two year old gentle sweetheart of cat who loves to play and frolic like a big kitten, and is willing to give him the time and love to further realize the amazing potential that he has already shown.

Samy is being fostered in the Toronto area 🏠

We are looking for a home with the following:
- a home where he is not left for long hours or a home where his person is not away frequently ie travelling for work
- must be 25 years of age and live in the Province of Ontario.

Foster Home Needed - please share🐾

Meet Spook – a 6 year old black cat who’s friendly, sweet, and loves human company 🐈‍⬛❤️

Spook was recently surrendered with stomatitis and a urinary tract issue. The good news? He’s already recovered from the urinary tract troubles—now he just needs a foster home to rest and relax .

Please reach out to us if you are interested in opening your heart and home to Spook until he can find his forever home 🏠 🐾 🐈‍⬛

In his former home, he was very stressed out as there was a younger male cat, who was constantly stalking and attacking him. For this reason Spook is looking for a home where he is the only cat.

Spook is on a urinary food which will be provided by the rescue.
