WHO ARE WE….. AARF is a No Kill Rescue

AARF exists to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home abandoned, abused and unwanted animals. AARF was established in 1998. We work with local animal control to help dogs and cats; we take on extreme medical cases that require long term veterinary care. AARF uses a hands-on

approach to train and rehabilitate animals so that they may become family pets. Our program proves that the rate of successful placements is far higher if the animal is healthy, socialized, well trained and re-homed in an environment suited to his or her personality. AARF ensures that all dogs and cats that come into the rescue are fully vetted. Each and every one is vet checked, wormed, treated for fleas, spayed/neutered and microchipped. As well we take on extreme medical cases that require long term veterinary care ie heart worm cases, orthopedic cases, etc. AARF is strictly a not-for-profit rescue; we receive no funds from any agency, corporation or government. AARF relies soley on the kindness and generosity of the public and community.

Today, we celebrate the extraordinary impact of Kristin, a devoted supporter of AARF Rescue and proud parent of three of our beloved dogs: Milo and Jack and the late Ben❤️🐾🐾🐾❤️

As a respected expert in the woodworking and refinishing world, Kristin ignites passion in others through her webinars and workshops, empowering them to unlock their full potential and soar to new heights 💫

Kristin’s connections have yielded significant donations for AARF, and we are deeply indebted to her unwavering commitment to our cause🙏 ❤️

We've taken our time introducing Bruno as we prioritized getting a handle on his health, and what a journey it has been.

Bruno came into our rescue back in June, a little guy found running at large who ended up in our local Animal Services on my birthday, of all days, I took that as a special sign he was meant to be a part of the AARF Family. Animal Services reached out to us to ask if we could take Bruno on as he had some concerning medical issues that needed immediate intervention, we of course said absolutely!

Our vet clinic stepped in, performing an emergency cystotomy to relieve a urethral obstruction that could have ruptured his bladder at any moment. Our vet was shocked by the severity of his condition, removing multiple stones and neutering him during surgery, while also treating severe ear infections 🐕🏥

The vet clinic staff adored Bruno and one team member reached out about fostering him. He is such a sweet little guy with personality plus 🥰

Once he received the medical all clear, Bruno joined our foster-to-adopt program in late July with Genevieve and her family. Bruno's affectionate nature and zest for life are contagious. His road to recovery has been long, but today Bruno is thriving and he's settled in beautifully with Genevieve and her family 🏠❤️

His ears are finally healed, his vaccinations are now up to date, and we've made dietary adjustments based on the test results of his bladder stones. We want to ensure Bruno remains medically stable and flourishes on his new diet before moving forward with adoption, a crucial step for our rescue to guarantee his long-term health and well-being.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Genevieve and her family for their selfless dedication to Bruno, and to our donors, whose generosity have made a tangible difference in his life. Our heartfelt thanks also to Adopt a dog/save a life for their vital contribution to Bruno's medical costs, a shining example of the profound impact we can have when we work together ❤️🐕❤️

Happy forever after sweet Bambi ❤️

Bambi came into the rescue an extremely sick puppy who had contracted parvo and spent weeks at our Vet clinic, where she was closely monitored and treated.

Once she was given the all clear and tested negative, she moved into our foster to adopt program. We give so much thanks to our friends at UnderDog Academy through them a foster was found for Bambi 😌❤️

We took things slow with Bambi, not wanting to overwhelm her body with multiple vaccinations, so we split them out which took a few months considering she did not have any core vaccinations before becoming so sick.

Once her vaccinations were done, we gave her body time to build immunity. When a dog has parvo, they are on strict quarantine and cannot be in public places while the virus is shedding. Bambi had a lot of catching up to do socially, and her foster mom, Hayly, did an excellent job working with UnderDog Academy on her social skills and training. After a couple of months, we redid blood work, which came back great, so we moved forward and had Bambi spayed 🐕‍🦺 🏥

After being in the rescue for 10 months, we are overjoyed to announce Bambi has been officially adopted by her foster mom, Hayly 🥳

We give immense thanks and gratitude to Hayly for her unwavering commitment and care to Bambi while being fostered. Bambi has thrived in Hayly’s care.

Hayly we are forever grateful and thrilled that Bambi found her happy forever after with you ❤️🐕‍🦺❤️

Sharing a heartwarming tale of a fresh start.

Pooka was constantly being left outside leaving him vulnerable to so many dangers, narrowly escaping being hit by cars multiple times 🐈‍⬛ 🚗

On a chilly, rainy night, fate intervened, Pooka was locked out of his house 🔒🏠 Fortunately, a compassionate couple spotted him and welcomed him into their safe haven 🤗

They contacted his owner, who selflessly relinquished ownership, giving Pooka a second chance at a better and safer life 🐈‍⬛

Following his rescue, Pooka received a clean bill of health, testing negative for FIV and FeLV, blood work was done and his vaccinations updated, thankfully, he was already neutered 💉🩸

Initially, Cat and Dylan intended to foster Pooka, but he seamlessly integrated into their household, harmonizing with their feline family members, prompting them to make his adoption official 🐈‍⬛ 🏠 ❤️

We are so excited to announce that Bizzy has been officially adopted by her foster family 🐕 ❤️

Bizzy has blossomed so much since coming into the rescue. She is such a love bug and the sweetest girl.

She’s a very smart cookie too! Bizzy has excelled in training and has completed Levels 1, 2 and 3 🎓

We can’t thank Samantha and Evan enough for their commitment, care and love to Bizzy. We are so happy she has found such an amazing family to call her own ❤️
