Happy Gotcha Day Dexodus Aysah 😭🩵

Noodle came with to the dentist 🦷

This man is literally the best. He doesnt like sitting outside the room for xrays he will but its not his favourite. So ive taught him to lay still under the lead jacket (they sanitize the jacket in between patients no worries) the dental assistants loved it and thought it was the cutest thing ever 😂 he laid perfectly still like a gentleman while they xrayed my teeth. 🦷 turns out i need one of my fillings redone bc its irritating my gum line 😭 so we go back at the end of the month to have it fixed up.

We then went to see his auntie Jenn at our fav little coffee shop in our hometown. The coffee and cookie were to D I E for!! Noodle was HYPED to see his auntie Jenn. He was more excited to see her than to meet her little baby 😂 she got lots of noodle snuggles and i got baby snuggles so we all had a win win 😂

Next week Noodle goes for hopefully his last recheck at the vet to make absolutely sure his bloods are holding but based on his gum colour, his behaviour and his energy levels im really hopeful hes back to normal 🩵 Hes been SUPER excited to work again which is amazing bc when he was sick or not feeling 100% he showed little interest in going to work. So fingers crossed! 🤞🏼

Noodle man has been loving/hating taking time off to recover from his mystery illness.

Hes finally finished antibiotics and now its just a waiting game to see what his bloods will look like next month. The vet we seen here close to hole believes Dexodus was misdiagnosed and thus given the wrong meds which worsened his condition. He was given 10 days of antibiotics and now that hes done them we wait for his body to "reset" before we take more bloods. Until then its just watch and wait.

We've been doing a lot of puzzle toys, brain games and just started walking outside for longer than 20 minutes again. Hes loving the adventure walks 🥳

Praying this boy heals to 100% so we can work him fully again. Currently hes on part time light duty and hes not impressed 🥲😂

Happy 5th birthday to my sick Noodle boy 🥳🎂

He managed to catch kennel cough 😷 how we dont know but that just happens to be our luck. So hes on crate rest for 2 weeks or until he stops coughing.

2026 RV show ⛺️

Took Dexodus to the RV show this weekend! He was a rockstar despite me completing spacing out and forgetting his leash forcing me to use his seatbelt as a leash 😂

He went into sooooooooo many campers with me. He did NOT like when i went up onto the balcony in one trailer however 😆 he was convinced i would fall from the sky 🌌 first pic is how DISPLEASED he was with me when i finally came down from said balcony😂

This man never ceases to amaze me with how versatile he is in different situations. He went from working in our teeny tiny village 2x a week with little to no crowds and just JUMPED head first into going to the mall yesterday, then a super busy RV show AND church today. Hes such a blessing to me 🥹😭🩵 he got to see all his church family today which he was hyped about! Said hello to all the kiddos and adults who know him, slept through the loud music & preaching, then went to the RV show with hundreds of campers and camping supplies with hundreds of people walking in and out of campers, kids in wagons & strollers, fake dogs/bears/people, mascots, fake fires, loud music and popcorn all over the floors. By the time we got to the exit he was soooo ready to go home and go to bed 😂 the last photo is him passed the heck out.

Im forever grateful for this man, his drive, willingness to please, eagerness to work and versatility 🩵

Took Noodle on an adventure today! We went back to the infamous West Edmonton Mall.

First he saw an unexpected visitor! He managed to find his auntie Shay () by accident 😂 i didnt know beforehand she was going to the mall and he was air scenting then all the sudden he LOCKED onto Shay's momma and when auntie Shay came around the corner? He lost his little mind 😂 he was SO EXCITED. How he smelled JUST her scent despite thousands of people around us shocked me. He hasnt seen her in a while so he was sooooooo happy.

He was the PERFECT man in the mall too. Walked the whole thing on a flat (i had his training collar just incase because its been a HOT minute since we've done something as huge as the mall) he had a perfect heel, ignored ALL the drive by pets, kids, saw a security dog and he ignored flawlessly, took a nap while he watched my brother go bowling, and had the time of his little life showing off how good of a boy he is 🩵

This man blew me away today. As a self trained handler sometimes i question my ability to train/get imposter syndrome but he proves to me over and over i KNOW what im doing because hes only been trained by myself 🥹🩵 tomorrow we're going on another adventure so stay tuned 🫢🤫

"And I will be there to guide him" -Dakoda my first SD probably

After a week of learning this new normal its time i posted the news. Back in October Pib started having some tummy issues. We thought it was just run of the mill GI upset (which it likely was however) sadly it got better then much worse.

On December 22 2025 mid morning Daddy started showing another GI upset. We called the vet and per instructions gave him meds and he settled down so we decided to wait for going into the vet. We waited until about 15:00 hours before taking him in. After tests it was determined he may have the beginning of a twist (GVD). But they couldnt see anything. They took him to the back and decided to try and keep him comfortable to see if it would sort itself out or get worse and need surgery. Early in the morning on December 23 i got a call he wasnt doing well. I rushed over and he was not feeling good. He went from just an upset tummy and not wanting anyone to touch it, to bloated and extremely uncomfortable. Due to Daddys crate issues we had been working on it was going to be way too much strict crate rest due to the incision needing to heal properly. We had to make the incredibly hard decision to put Daddy down. He crossed onto the rainbow bridge to his sister Dakoda.

This was a huge blow to our little family as we have done as much as we can to prevent GVD but unfortunately it still got us. We had bonded so much to him in the last year.. He was just starting his intensive training and doing so well. We'll miss him horridly 😭 the house has been much too quiet without him. If you dont know about GVD and have a deep, wide, barrel or V chested dog PLEASE educate urself on the signs and symptoms.

Daddy post 🦖

We took Daddy and Dexodus to a little market in our village 🩵

Daddy has been working VERY hard these last 16 months to earn himself a spot as a service dog in training. Hes always showed an interest in the job but because he couldnt get over his anxiety or reactivity when he was younger he never got the chance. However the last 6 months that has changed.

Daddy has made HUGE strides in his training. He now is able to stay home with my cousin with zero issues even while crated 💪🏼his reactivity is 10 fold better!! He can ignore all dogs who pass him calmly and only reacts occasionally to a dog whom is reacting to him and with more practice i expect that to go away entirely!

He absolutely BLEW ME AWAY for his very first busy public outing. We were not expecting him to last as long as he did!! He lasted an hour and a half before i called it because i didnt want him hitting his threshold. He listened to every command, ignored all the kiddos walking passed squeaking at him, AND EVEN IGNORED A MAN WHO HOVERED OVER HIM TO PET HIM UNEXPECTEDLY!!!!! We're so so so proud of our pibby man 🥹🩵

What have we been up to you ask?

A whole lotta nothing!! Budget has been tight as hell so we've been staying home a lot.

Daddy is doing MUCH better! Hes fully recovered from his upset belly.

Now Noodle has a spot on his foot 😅 its almost healed now (thank u honey🍯). He had to take a week off work which he was NOT happy about. He did well though.

We went and did allergy testing on me so hopefully we'll get those results soon bc omg i feel like im always in some sort of allergic reaction.

We completely emptied the trailer and prepped it for winter ❄️ the boys were very confused at the mountain of blankets i brought in 😂

The boys have also been "snuggling" while in their crates 🥹 ive noticed occasionally bc Daddy's crate has no bottom he'll SILENTLY (i s**t u not idk how he does it) move his crate over so he can lay with his brother 🥹

When i said i wanted to spend money this is not what i had in mind Daddy 🥹

Daddy had to go to the vet 🥲 he woke up this morning and shortly after going p*e outside he came in (my boys dont do anything without supervision including going potty) and started throwing up. He was NOT feeling good. We out him out on the deck and let him sit there so i could get some meds into him. Please note: We live rurally so we have been taught by vets a protocol to use before rushing our pets over an hour to a vets office.
Post medicine he was still feeling rather yucky so auntie Aly called 5 different offices to find 1 to take on Daddy as he was considered by them an emergency case bc of how much he had gotten sick.

So in the car him and i went and drove an hour and 15 minutes to get to the nearest vet. They were AMAZING with him! Daddy didnt react to any human in the office and loved up on all the techs. He let me do all the vet holds we've been practicing over the last 4 months (PAT ON THE FRIGGEN BACK TO ME BC THIS SAVED MY ASS FOR BLOOD WORK). He let me hold his head with my hand flat under his chin, he let them look in his mouth at all his teefs, he let me hold him for bloodwork AND he didnt even flinch with the needle thanks to us practicing fake needle pokes. No muzzle was needed. No reaction what so ever! He was so good!!

The vet took his blood and it was run and he complimented me on his diet bc his bloods looked fantastic 😂🥰. His weight is 61.3lbs and the vet was FLOORED by his muscle definition 💪🏼 he said Daddy was the most well defined non sport dog hes ever seen 😮‍💨🫶🏼 so that made me feel great lol 😂

They came to the conclusion its most likely a severe GI upset and prescribed him antinausea and antidiarrhea meds and told no backpacking/weight carrying for at least 4-5 days, try not to stress him out/keep him calm, half his meals/give more frequently in smaller portions for 4-5 days depending on his attitude, and lots of water.

Hes home now and already resting with his brother next to him in their jail cells. Hopefully he feels better fast.

Also i hope the last video gives u a giggle. Thats just a snip of what the boys put up with 😂

Summer is almost over 😭😭

This summer was full of training for both noodle and pibby!

We went to Winners and did some training. Dexodus always does amazing!! Hes the best boy so for him its just fun work 😂 pib is working on focusing in public as well as ignoring people. He still gets a but unsure when people are yelling in stores. He gets confused as to why they are using their outside voice when i tell him he cant use his 😆 his heel in public is amazing, his alerting is getting way better in public, his down stays are SOLID, and hes able to ignore his favourite thing of all time in stores now, BABIES. He LOVES babies!! Anytime he would hear them he would immediately sit down and baby whine wagging his lil tail waiting to say hello. Honestly its the cutest thing ever.

Pibs manners are SO MUCH BETTER for camping this year!! Hes doing really well with on leash recall and is still working on recalling off prey (its hard okay) Noodle has always had immaculate recall even off of prey so hes fine 😂

We had our family reunion over September long weekend and pib did so good! He was a little nervous when we first showed up and there was 2 dogs there 1 a bully mix the other a mastiff mix (she was a baby) and after day 1 he was fine with the puppy! The other dog however kept giving stiff body language so i kept pib away from her to be safe. He ignored her fabulously tho which is huge for him!!

Even at home pibs manners are getting much better! He still barks when the door is knocked on but he calms down much faster now!

Noodle Pib and I have also all loved solar charging outside too!! This winter is gunna suck when its too cold to sit outdoors 😭 oh and Noodle said "no laundry mum ur now a head rest" in the middle of me doing laundry 😂

We cant wait for the fall season tho!! Cool weather, crunchy leaves, crisp air and home baking here we come!! 🍂
