🎉 It’s Jackpot Day!! 🎉

We can’t wait to see you! Here are a few reminders to help keep the night running smoothly:

📣 Contestants: We have more important information for you — please head to the Private Facebook Group to read it.

1️⃣ Parking
Please follow the directions of our volunteers when parking.

* Truck & trailers: contestant parking
* Spectators (all other vehicles): spectator parking in the infield

If you need to park a little closer due to physical limitations, please let our parking volunteers know — we have a dedicated spot for you!

2️⃣ Vendors
Dogs On the Run & Loveable Jewelry will be joining us tonight — be sure to check them out!

3️⃣ Announcer’s Booth
⚠️ IMPORTANT: At no time throughout the evening is anyone allowed in the Announcer’s Booth.
Enter at your own risk — we may put you to work 😄

If you have any questions, please message our page or find a board member.

4️⃣ Washrooms
Unfortunately, the porta potty has not arrived yet. However, there are bathrooms located at the campground east of the main arena.

5️⃣ Be Respectful 💛
Please be respectful to our Board and volunteers. Some of our volunteers are not horse people, but they have big hearts and are here to help us run our events!

Finally, thank you so much to everyone coming out to race, watch, and volunteer!

Thank you to our AMAZING sponsors ❤️ and a very special thank you to our Ground Crew — they have been phenomenal in getting the grounds and everything ready for us to enjoy.

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! 🙌🐎✨

📣 NEW PRE-REGISTRATION PROCESS FOR 2026 📣

This year, we are trying a new way to pre-register for our jackpots using Cognito Forms — a software platform commonly used by many fellow barrel racing series and jackpots.

Our goal is to make registration smoother, easier to organize, and more efficient for everyone involved.

The form will include questions such as:
• Full Name, Phone Number & Email Address
• Horse Name & MBRA Membership Number
• Division you wish to run in

If you enter Select or Youth, an additional question will appear asking whether you wish to:
• Carry over to Open
• Run both divisions
• Only run in Select/Youth

We will also ask if you are running more than one (1) horse at our jackpot. If yes, you’ll be able to tell us which horse you would prefer to run first. We will do our best to accommodate requests.

⏰ TIME SLOT SELECTION ⏰

This year, pre-registration will also include Time Slot selection.

We will offer 6 different time slots, with 6 riders allowed per slot.
‼️ These spots will be first come, first served (the spot will booked once you click on 'Submit' at the bottom of the form)

Once a time slot is full, the form will no longer allow additional riders to select it and you will need to choose another available slot.

If there are any remaining spots after pre-registration closes, we will post them in the Facebook group for grabs.

🗓 PRE-REGISTRATION DATES 🗓

The registration form will open around noon on the Saturday prior to each jackpot and willclose on Monday at noon (ex: for Jackpot #1, the form will open on Saturday, May 23 and will close on Monday, May 25)

You may still register up until 6:30 PM on jackpot day by messaging the Kick the Dust Up page or Emailing [email protected] (Please avoid messaging board members directly.)

⚠️ IMPORTANT ⚠️
If you do NOT pre-register, you will automatically be placed at the bottom of the draw, regardless of how many horses you are running. We highly recommend pre-registering. If you need to scratch, please send us an email or message on the Kick the Dust Up page.

💵 OFFICE INFORMATION 💵

The office will open between 5:30 PM and 5:45 PM on jackpot night and will close at 6:45 PM. Cash is the only form of payment accepted for entries.

The first time you run at one of our jackpots this season, you will be asked to show proof of your MBRA membership (a screenshot on your phone is sufficient). Please be ready to show your membership card when registering.

You will also be required to fill out a waiver. If you are under 18 years old, a parent or guardian must be present to sign the waiver for you.

Here is a video so you know what to expect 🙂

TIME ONLIES ⏰ — PLEASE READ

Each week, we offer paid, pre-booked 10-minute Time Only slots in the main arena from 5:40 PM to 6:40 PM.

💲 Cost: $5 per rider
👥 6 riders per time slot

These slots are meant to give contestants an opportunity to safely warm up and practice the pattern before the jackpot begins.

⚠️ If you book a Time Only slot and are unable to attend, the fee is still owed. Any unpaid fees must be paid before competing at the next jackpot.

As Time Onlies continue to grow in popularity, we ask everyone to please follow proper arena etiquette and be respectful of the other riders sharing the ring. This also applies to the Rodeo Warm Up Arena.

✅ GENERAL ETIQUETTE
• Stay aware of your surroundings and other riders
• Follow traffic flow — slower riders on the outside, faster riders on the inside
• Leave space between horses whenever possible
• Keep moving and warm up efficiently
• Only riders who paid for that specific time slot are permitted in the ring during that time

⏰ HOW MOST TIME ONLIES WORK
Typically, the first 5 minutes are used for general warm up and the last 5 minutes are used for riders taking turns practicing the pattern.

Please be patient and courteous:
• Let everyone have a turn before attempting another practice run if time allows
• When someone is practicing the pattern, stay aware and out of the way
• Keep an eye on the clock so you do not miss your assigned slot

✅ LOPING THE PATTERN IS OKAY IF…
• It is slow and controlled
• Space allows and you are not crowding others
• You announce yourself in busy situations (example: “Turning second!” or “Run!”)
• If someone is practicing a run, allow them to finish — or at minimum reach the 3rd barrel — before starting your own
• If you knock over a barrel, please dismount and reset it promptly
• You are respectful of everyone’s paid practice time

❌ NOT ALLOWED / BAD ETIQUETTE
• Full-speed or exhibition-style runs
• Lunging
• Cutting someone off while they are practicing a run
• Monopolizing the pattern or barrels

🚨 IMPORTANT — PEEWEES
Due to the level of activity and commotion during Time Onlies, only Youth, Select and Open members will be permitted to participate in Time Onlies. Because the warm-up environment is limited and quite fast-paced, we recommend Peewees use alternative warm-up areas.

Please remember that six people are sharing only 10 minutes. A little patience and courtesy goes a long way, and we appreciate everyone helping keep the environment safe and enjoyable for all riders 😊

🅿️ Parking & Map

To help things run smoothly and safely for everyone, please follow the parking guidelines shown on the map:

🟢 Contestants with HORSE TRAILERS should park in the green areas shown on the map. Please do not park horse trailers directly up against the arena.

When parking, please be mindful to leave enough space for the trailer beside you to safely park, load/unload and maneuver out later in the evening.

🔵 Spectators (cars, SUVs, trucks without trailers, motorcycles, etc.) should park in the blue areas located in the infield. Please remind your friends and family where to park. Please be kind and respectful to our volunteers. We understand it’s not the closest parking and requires a bit of walking, but it is the best way to make sure horse trailers are not blocked in.

♿ We now have a handicap/accessibility parking section located behind the office for those who need to park a little closer to the arena grounds. Please help us keep these spots available for those who truly need them.

🔴 Please do not park in the areas marked in red on the map.

We do have volunteers helping direct parking at the beginning of the evening, but please note they cannot stay out all night — many of them are also racing or supporting family and friends. They do their best to help when available, and we truly appreciate them!

🚫 Important Reminder: Please do not park your horse trailer directly against the arena fence. This area is prime viewing space for spectators with lawn chairs and for contestants who enjoy watching while mounted.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation!

💵 PAYMENTS & PAYOUTS 💵

Please note that CASH is the only form of payment accepted for the entry fees.

⏱️ We will do our best to have payouts ready approximately 20–30 minutes after the last Open rider each evening. We appreciate your patience while our volunteers finish calculations, results and payouts.

✅ If you need to leave early, someone else is welcome to pick up your winnings on your behalf.

Please note that payouts do not need to be picked up immediately after the jackpot. However, ALL winnings must be claimed by the end of the KDU Finals ceremony.

🚫 No e-transfers or cheques will be sent for unclaimed payouts.

Any money left behind after the KDU Finals will be put toward the 2027 season. Thank you for your donation!

Thank you everyone for your understanding and cooperation!
