We've seen a few dogs with Black-legged ticks in the past couple weeks. They're out there!

This sweet dog was found on Friday, November 7th. If you’re the owner of this dog, please contact 226-910-1322 x104.

For those asking, our process with a found dog is:
• First we see if we can find the owners through a tag or microchip
• If we can’t find the owner, we advertise (as we have here), reach out to neighbouring vets and municipalities, and care for the dog for a 72 hour period.
• After the 72 hours, the dogs are rehomed via a no-kill shelter or adopted using a vetting service.

This week is Hunting week, please make sure that you are taking the proper safety precautions for you and your dog.

To ensure safety, prioritize visibility with blaze orange or reflective gear like vests and collars, stay in areas clear of hunters by checking schedules and avoiding peak times. Keep dogs leashed and make noise while hiking. Consider bringing a pet first-aid kit and fresh water.
