Successful weekend last weekend at Moncton Retriever Club hunt test. Reva passed both days in Senior level and I was so proud of her!

The Senior division is the mid level division, (Junior being entry level, and Master being finished level)
It consists of a double retrieve on land, a double retrieve in water, a land blind, water blind, upland test and an honor (sit steady watching another dog retrieve)
Its a tough test and we've had our fair share of fails.
The sport has a high fail rate (50-75% dont pass is what Ive observed) so it always helps to know that, and makes you very proud when you do pass.
We need 1 more pass to make 4, which is whats needed for her Senior Hunter title.

We also got to see her littermate Beau from NS, who was there trialing in Master.

Overall great weather and friendly faces!

Reva got her first Senior hunter pass earlier this month! Been too busy to post! Shes such a good girl.
She's available to the right person.
If you are looking for a high drive dog to do sports with, she's for you. She could do agility, flyball, canicross, obedience or detection. Shes trained in hunt tests and has an obedience foundation.
She'd be a high energy pet but would do well with someone with a property or active people. She settles in the house and when youre petting her she melts.
Shes needy and wants to have interaction with her people.
Very talented dog.
Fully health tested, (hips OFA excellent, elbows OFA normal, eyes clear, genetic panel fully clear)
Shes titled with a JH and a WCX. And has 1 senior pass.
She just turned 4.

*Little Max update*
He was placed with us early March so its been 3 months now.
He is doing so well in his IGP training.
He has been started in all 3 phases: Tracking, obedience and protection.
His obedience is going great. He has been developing well in heeling. He has a sit in motion started, a down in basic position, and a stand. He stays in all 3 positions while I walk around him.
His fronts are coming along. He spins on command, and can take 3 different reward placements from heeling.
He knows place, barking, and back up as well.
He is off leash trained for recall.
He has started secondary obedience for protection, article indications, blind search, and A frame training. He loves his ball on a string.
He is so fun to work and so level headed.

He will be only 1 year old soon, and he is already so far in his training.

Juniper went home last Thursday after almost 11 weeks with us, and we can't wait to share videos of her 😍
We have just been too busy to make the video updates!

Her last morning with us we took a run on the side x side, she layed quietly while I did farm chores, and then we did some obedience training.

Her owners will be working with us long term to keep enhancing their skills and keep her on track.

We are also super behind on messages and application forms.
We are sorry if we havent answered you yet.
Mentally we have been very full and between trials/competitions, dog training, toddler life and also having a litter of puppies right now, our plates are overfull. Summers are crazy here.
We havent had a spare minute to sit down.

Havent shared a Juniper update in awhile!

Ive just been too busy to edit videos, so will have to share as I get them done.
She is about ready to go home.

She was originally supposed to be here for 6 weeks but it was clear as that date approached she was needing a lot more time.

Shes been here 10 weeks now and is a completely changed dog.

We are deep into the process of owner training now and soon they will be ready to have her back in their home.

Some of Junipers issues were:

Inability to settle ever
High arousal reactivity
Handler aggression when aroused
Zero leash control
Nail trims, handling
Car rides from hell
Barking at the window aggressively
Going after the cat
Counter surfing
Jumping
Etc

We are behind on answering msgs and overwhelmed with work and life, so we may be awhile to answer but we promise we will answer eventually. 😊

The East Regional Schutzhund Championships are done and Shane Rice and Hilda got their IGP3!

Anyone who does IGP knows just how damn hard it is and Shane has put in the hours!

Next up for this team is the CWDF Nationals!

Juniper learning some article indications for tracking.

Juniper is doing amazing and is in the transition phase to go home.

She is the longest case Ive ever taken on because the owners need a lot of skill development to handle her properly before she can go home. She's a very intelligent and powerful female.
She has very high drive and that brings challenges.
She has some obsessive/compulsive behavior and hectic tendencies that is not easy to learn to handle.

With us she is great and I feel very hopeful.

They will be training with us long term and honing their dog training skills with some IGP work in tracking and obedience, to be able to give her an outlet and them the skills to train her.

For now, things are busy here, we are preparing for the Regional Schutzhund Championships next weekend in NS.
I look forward to a break soon.

What made my day was when someone said "I wish my dog acted that good!" Little did they know, just a few weeks ago, what a disaster she was.
Training makes the difference. Their dog can be good, too!
