AAK9 Pembroke Corgis

AAK9 Pembroke Corgis Corgis: small in size, big in personality. Our corgis are extremely active and a ton of fun. Our goal is to produce well rounded, experienced, happy pups.

We will keep them until 12 weeks to provide them with as well balanced a start as we can.

All the babies except Goblin go to their forever homes on Friday & Saturday. I will be grooming them head to paw before they go; so, they'll be nice and tidy going to their new homes. Im so excited to see how their lives progress but im going to m8ss them SO much. Hopefully Poppy will be successfully bred in July.

We're happy for the puppies going to their forever homes but we will miss the little terrorists. June 6th is when they all leave ♡

Guess who was the first to figure out how to get in and out of the pool? Goblin, then Odin, and then Daisy. The other two shown interest so far. Daisy was first to use the slide; Odin was second. Goblin wont use the ramp she jumps in and out over the side lol.

Was a HUGE day for the puppies. 2nd offleash nature hike with 3 adult corgis and 3 other adult dogs. They all swam for the first time and interacted a lot with the adult dogs. They are all super confident and inquisitive. These guys act so much older than they are.

I wanted to talk briefly about puppy selection. When you are looking at adding a family member to your family, that has a lifespan of potentially 10 to 20 years depending on the canine, I think time should be dedicated to ensuring that this is the right canine for your lifestyle now and going forward. I have received some pushback regarding puppy selection, and that we will not match a puppy to a family until we know the puppy's characteristics. To me, our job is to provide a classic Corgi that is true to the breed yet well centered and confident. We are to mitigate as many possible challenges through early socialization and exposure; including two sets of shots, Veterinary appointments, microchipping, and lots of handling. It's also our job to assess the puppies and their character and their talents and limits. Then it's our job to match the best puppy to the best lifestyle and family. Proof to that is our refusal to place Goblin. We owe it to her and her perspective family to match her unique skill set to their life. Sometimes this means waiting.

Taking the fuzzy piranhas into town to spend some time with their future families. Some more socialization for the two who's families aren't local.
