I wanted to talk briefly about puppy selection. When you are looking at adding a family member to your family, that has a lifespan of potentially 10 to 20 years depending on the canine, I think time should be dedicated to ensuring that this is the right canine for your lifestyle now and going forward. I have received some pushback regarding puppy selection, and that we will not match a puppy to a family until we know the puppy's characteristics. To me, our job is to provide a classic Corgi that is true to the breed yet well centered and confident. We are to mitigate as many possible challenges through early socialization and exposure; including two sets of shots, Veterinary appointments, microchipping, and lots of handling. It's also our job to assess the puppies and their character and their talents and limits. Then it's our job to match the best puppy to the best lifestyle and family. Proof to that is our refusal to place Goblin. We owe it to her and her perspective family to match her unique skill set to their life. Sometimes this means waiting.
