🐾✨ Exciting news at Northern Reign ✨🐾

After two weeks of quarantine, and vet clearance we are excited to finally introduce to you our newest Russian 🇷🇺 import…. Ablikats Viola 😻. Her addition will be the introduction of the stunning blue colour to our breeding program.

We have waited a loooong time for this girl. A rarity these days, she features 4 generations of PURE blue lines, with no carriers. We want to thank her breeder for her trust in sending her all the way to Canada 🇨🇦.

This exciting addition represents our continued commitment to producing healthy, well-socialized British Shorthairs while expanding the beautiful colors available to future Northern Reign families.

Stay tuned for more future blue additions… we can’t wait to watch them grow and mature, and contribute to the future of our cattery 💙

🖤🩶 Exciting news from Northern Reign 🖤🩶

We are thrilled to announce our beautiful silver Champion is expecting kittens, due in early July 2026 🐾

Our waitlist is open. After this litter we will be taking a brief paws 😉 as we focus on our current kittens and allow our young cats the time they need to mature and develop.

We believe that patience is an essential part of responsible breeding, and this break will ensure we continue producing exceptional and ethically raised British Shorthairs😻

We look forward to sharing updates and welcoming future 2027 litter plans when the time is right. 🖤🐾

Beautiful Boreal 🩷 she is 16 weeks and will be staying with us to carry on her mother’s line, as Leia (mom) will be spayed due to her difficulty delivering this B litter. We will be starting to say goodbye to the brothers in the next couple of weeks. We are happy to see that the kittens are thriving in Leia’s first and last litter. An early retirement for Leia but we couldn’t be more proud of her and the great momma she is 🖤🩶

Ethical, responsible breeding means putting the long-term health, safety, and welfare of every kitten first, and that includes mandatory early desexing.

At Northern Reign, all pet kittens go to their new homes already desexed, ABSOLUTELY NO EXCEPTIONS !!! 🚫🥜

Despite common misconceptions, early desexing is safe, is widely supported by veterinary professionals, and is promoted by organizations such as the SPCA. It is one of the most responsible steps breeders can take to protect their kittens.

Benefits of early desexing include:
• Preventing accidental or irresponsible breeding
• Reducing the risk of contributing to backyard breeding
• Helping decrease shelter overpopulation and rescue burden
• Lowering certain reproductive health risks
• Preventing unwanted hormonal behaviors such as spraying or roaming
• Providing peace of mind for breeders and pet owners alike

All kittens are desexed once they reach appropriate weight (typically around 1.5 kg or approximately 14 weeks), ensuring they are protected before rehoming.
