What a great day at the Alberni Co-op Community Day.
We are thrilled to share that Valley Cats - Alberni Cat Rescue was awarded a generous $2,500 grant to help support our rescue efforts. ❤️ Our volunteer Lily is pictured accepting the cheque!
We also enjoyed meeting members of the community at our information table and raising some extra funds through the sale of some kitty-themed items.
A huge thank you to Livi and everyone at Alberni District Co-op and all the folks who stopped by to support us. Your generosity helps us continue making a difference for local cats and kittens! ��

We are hosting a Valley Cats - Alberni Cat Rescue adoption event this Sunday so the store will be open from 11 am to 3 pm. This is a great opportunity to visit for those who have difficulty with our usual hours:)

MAMA CAT! 🌸

We are officially running out of names and need your help finding the perfect one for this gorgeous girl. ❤️

This sweet mama was found on a property out in Beaver Creek. The compassionate family whose property she had chosen as her safe place had been feeding her, and then, to their surprise, they discovered she wasn't alone — she had six kittens! 🐾
Her kittens have now been safely moved into foster homes where they are thriving, and Mama is next in line for her happy ending. She will be spayed and then begin the search for the loving forever family she so deserves.
She has been an incredible mom — attentive, protective, loving, and devoted to all six of her babies. Watching her care for them has been truly special.
Now it's her turn to be cared for, cherished, and loved. But first, she needs a beautiful name that suits this beautiful girl! ✨

Tank & Baxter would do well as Indoor/outdoor cats.. this is the 2nd time they have been “given” back at no fault of their own. They are wonderful boys and would just love to stay with a family for the rest of their years ❤️

Hey ! We’re slowly getting back into the swing of things after the holidays and truly appreciate everyone’s patience during this busy time. Over the next few days, I’ll begin making follow-up calls to those who have submitted applications for a cat or kitten.

Please note that all cats and kittens currently available for adoption are listed on our website at www.pavalleycats.com While we may feature some of them here on Facebook, the most up-to-date information can always be found on our adoption page. Only cats and kittens who are fully ready for adoption are posted there.

We are also desperately in need of long-term foster homes. While many people are interested in fostering a litter short-term, we are truly seeking committed, responsible fosters who want to make a lasting difference and continue helping beyond just one experience. Our foster application is also available on our website.

As we move into the new year, we’re implementing some new procedures and actively working on updating and improving both our adoption and foster applications. Please remember that we are 100% volunteer-run. We all work full-time jobs, have families, and care for our own pets, yet we dedicate our time to this rescue because it’s something we deeply believe in and hold close to our hearts. Because of this, responses to calls, emails, and applications may take a little time—your kindness and patience mean more to us than you know.

Thank you for your continued support and appreciation as we head into 2026. Let’s make it a wonderful year for the cats! 🐾💙
