Host Introduction
Chris Eddy
Farmer and retired Shearer
Chris Eddy's sheep and shearing career started in Britain with him adding some sheep to his dairy operation in his mid 30s. Starting out helping friends with shearing their sheep in return for help on his own, Chris was quickly inspired to take some training from watching shearing competitions in Cornwall, his home province. After which he achieved his gold seal certification from the British Wool Board. In 2000, Chris immigrated to Canada where he settled in the praires, he established a large sheep operation that is still family operated today, and is the host flock for this event.
Chris has a shearing career that spans over 35 years and includes many courses and demonstrations he has helped with. Along with many shearers he has helped get started over the years, Chris helped to start out his son in the trade and together they founded Double E Shearing.
Although retired from commercial shearing now, he is still very involved in the sheep industry, Chris sits on the Saskatchewan Sheep Development Board as the South East representative, and is very involved in supporting local producers. On and off the shearing board Chris has been involved in many industry milestones over the years and is excited to add helping present this event to his resume.
