The other day I had the honour of seeing sweet Bailey for Canine Bowen Therapy!

Bailey has some arthritis and tightness in his hind end which causes him some discomfort. Canine Bowen Therapy is perfect as it uses a gentle rolling movement over specific points on the body to help release fascia tension (reducing inflammation around joints and muscles and improves circulation) and promotes healing without causing the dog stress or pain. There are many great benefits to Canine Bowen Therapy you can check out here: https://endlesspawtential.com/bowen-therapy

Is your dog dragging their back feet?

That little scuffing sound when they walk…
worn-down nails on the back paws…
their toes folding under…
or their back end looking weaker than usual…

These can all be signs that something deeper is going on.

Back foot dragging can be connected to:

✔ spinal or nerve irritation
✔ hip, pelvis, or lower back discomfort
✔ weakness in the hind end
✔ arthritis or mobility changes
✔ muscle imbalance
✔ reduced body awareness or coordination
✔ injury or compensation patterns

Animal chiropractic care may help by assessing how the spine, pelvis, hips, and nervous system are functioning together. When movement is restricted or the body is compensating, it can affect how well your dog places their feet, carries weight, and moves through their back end.

At Johnson's Chiropractic Animal Clinic, we look at the whole animal — not just the symptom.

If your dog is dragging their back feet, stumbling, wearing their nails unevenly, or struggling to get up, it is worth having them assessed.

Way to go team Ellie☺️🩷

Ellie, the pretty black lab, just finished three reactivity sessions and is killin’ it! Team Ellie is also working with so she has a super solid foundation, we worked together on her comfort level around new dogs in a rich environment where she has a lot of choice and opportunity to make good choices. For the most part, she is avoidant and nervous but we are seeing her curiosity and confidence grow with each session! Pesto and Theo would love to win her over. So proud of this team! Next up is some FOMO work so that Ellie is ready to take on some dog sport classes while patiently waiting her turn! 🩷💙
