This sweet girl is looking for her furever home!
Poppy is an adult dog (approximately 6-7 years old). She’s originally from Bahrain, and is mixed breeds (likely Cannan x Saluki). She had a rough start to life - she was a street dog in Bahrain for the first few years of her life and was taken into a shelter there when she was found pregnant. She lived in the shelter for 4 years before making her journey over to Canada.
Poppy is a very sweet, sensitive girl, and would do best in a calm home. She is afraid of cats, and has shown some reactivity towards other dogs. She LOVES attention from humans. She has not been tested with young children.
Poppy loves:
🐾 having a predictable routine
🐾 cuddling on the couch, and being cozy with her humans
🐾 slow, sniffy walks
🐾 people! she is always very excited to meet new people and get pets
Poppy has a very high level of anxiety. Poppy’s guardians have tried medication and training, but unfortunately have not been able to get her anxiety to a manageable level in their home and feel she would do much better in a calmer, more predictable environment where she can be the star of the show.
