🐾 Jade’s Puppies – Week 5 Update (Ottawa) 🐾
Born January 13, 2026
Jade’s litter is a Cane Corso × Staffordshire Terrier mix, with Rottweiler in the sire line. This is a loyal, intelligent, strong breed combination expected to mature into medium-to-large, athletic companions. Depending on which parent they take after, some may have a more compact, stocky build like mom, while others may lean toward a taller, more athletic frame.
There are 11 healthy puppies — males and females — all thriving and developing their own little personalities.
🩺 Health & Care
• Dewormed (on a bi-weekly schedule)
• First vaccinations will be completed before going home
• Nails trimmed weekly
• Raised indoors in our home with daily handling
🍽 Feeding & Development
• Eating softened puppy food three times daily
• Still nursing from mom as they gradually wean
• Growing steadily, active, and playful
• Eyes fully open and confidently exploring
🏡 Home Environment & Temperament
Both parents are stable, affectionate family dogs raised in a home with a young child and cats. They are calm, people-friendly, and demonstrate excellent temperaments.
The puppies are being raised inside our home and are handled daily. They are accustomed to:
• A child in the home
• Regular household activity and noise
• Supervised interaction with both parents
• A multi-pet household environment
Early exposure is being introduced thoughtfully and at an age-appropriate pace.
🧠 Early Socialization & Structure
These puppies are being raised with intention and structure from day one.
We are following a structured early socialization approach inspired by the “Rule of Sevens,” ensuring exposure to:
• Different surfaces (grass, wood, tile, concrete, etc.)
• Household sounds and new noises
• Safe objects and enrichment challenges
• A variety of people and gentle daily handling
• New environments within the home
• Gradual, positive introductions to both parents
They are also:
• Learning potty habits with a designated pine pellet area
• Introduced to early crate exposure
• Handled daily, including calm belly exposure and routine nail trims
Our goal is to raise confident, stable, adaptable puppies — not just cute ones.
📅 Go-Home Timeline
Puppies are expected to be ready for carefully matched homes between: March 10–24 (8–10 weeks old).
Some may stay slightly longer depending on readiness and individual family discussions.
💛 Placement Philosophy
This is a one-time litter raised in our home.
These puppies will be matched to families based on temperament, lifestyle, and long-term suitability — not appearance or first-come inquiries. We are looking for committed homes that understand the responsibility of raising a strong, intelligent breed mix.
Located in Ottawa, and prioritizing local families.
