As we move into summer and temperatures rise, please remember that pets cannot be left in vehicles on hot days.

Even with a window left slightly open, temperatures inside a vehicle will increase significantly in a matter of minutes, which can lead to death or serious injury.

The Provincial Animal Welfare Services (PAWS) Act allows police to enter motor vehicles to help pets in distress. If you are concerned about an animal left unattended in a vehicle, contact 911 immediately for assistance.
