Nothing in this world sounds worse than a coughing kitty! Oscar our diabetic client is coughing and we are booked to take him back to the vet tomorrow at 3 as I strongly suspect the URI has managed to pass bodies from Ghost to Oscar.

PLEASE SHARE IF YOU CAN'T SPARE. I am not sure if its what it is but when a diabetic cat coughs you can be sure something is going on that isn't right.

So far I have not had to put him back on insulin but man I fear that coming however it may just be an infection and for that we can medicate.

Oscar is one of our sanctuary elders and a newer client in our system. He is a huge bundle of love, so very cute but he's also a demon when it comes to crunchies he isn't allowed to have...Oscar maintains a wet food diet that is appropriate for his condition.

Since his momma had to move he's been getting into the foods he shouldn't be getting into and so he's going back I pray for antibiotics and not more blood as I have drained almost every cat in the house doing blood test lately...his came back a mid normal which was good but that cough makes me worry.

There was contact between houses so I will take responsability for him getting sick if that is what it is and I am praying that is all it is.

Thank you for everything you do for the cats that are a veterinary bill and who can't find homes because of those conditions. Oscar is lucky he is one of the cats with an actual owner, but his owner is in financial distress and that is why VSC exists to help cats like him and owners that love their pets.

UPDATE a very kind person took us sorry for not updating sooner I have caught Ghost's cold.

URGENTLY seeking a TRANSPORT volunteer or sponsor/s for a vet appointment today at 12:30. I admit I'm ill so I will be sending my rescue parnter as I have become exhausted after nursing Ghost who is quite ill all weekend.

If you can help please inbox me and let me know I would be very grateful. If I can't find a driver I would appreciate a sponsor for $40 as I do have paid people I can contact and ask.

Unfortunately after having to take Ghost in urgently on Friday and spending the weekend by his side as he has both URI and UTI and is on medications I totally forgot an appointment we have to be at today at 12:30.

I would need the volunteer to pick us up in Vanier and drive us to the appoinment on Bank Street at the Queensway, and then back to Vanier after. Of course the volunteer is more than welcome to come into the vet to see how we do what we do and work with us.

Please can you contact me if you can help I am honestly exhausted and getting a very bad cold myself so I will be sending my rescue partner out as I do not want to make anyone else helping to catch whatever it is I might have...honestly I think its really bad allergies, the pollen count has been really bad.

UPDATE NOW IN CARE WITH OTTAWA STRAY CAT RESCUE WOO HOO!

I have been tracking this poor cat for months and finally my rescue partner met him on the way home from work. He managed a half can of food but took off before we could secure him in a carrier. If this cat is yours please reach out to me I think he maybe a cat named Peaches who got away from his cat sitter almost 2 summers ago not sure but either way please if you see him can you contact me so we can run to try to catch him.

Thank you and I am Kelly from Vanier Street Cats we will temporarily hold the cat for rescue intake and if he is as badly injured as we fear he has a fairly open gash on his head you can't see clearly but its there and may need immediate care

I have been so busy with lost and found and in house care that I have not made the montly plea for more wet and dry cat food.

Our NOT so special needs still need to be fed and our elders in the house are out numbering the younger ones now and so I'm always in need of wet foods for the crew as most of them when they get to a certain age I don't think they like to chew lol.

I am so very grateful for everything you do for the kitties in my care I never expected to be the one who would give a home to so many unwanted, special needs or just forgotten animals.

HERE THEY ARE ALL LOVED AND WANTED even if I'm one person I will do my best to offer the compassion and love no one else ever wanted them to have.

P.S. we also need kitten food for the cat I'm feeding outside that is nursing and until I can seperate mom from the kittens all I can do is feed her.

AND I am always keeping supplies on hand for our resident diabetic but now we have another cat on the glucose scale who I will be switching to Fancy Feast or Friskies chicken pate which is the best and cheapest food for our sugar challenged kittehs.

URGENT if you see this kitty in the Du Peres Blanc/St. Jacques Street area please contact me. We have been meeting him to feed him in that area at a specific time and we hope to catch him as there is a rescue that has been trying to intake him.

Thank you for caring and for sharing and there is one person on the page who has been feeding him as well and we saw him very close to her home so we honestly hope to trap him in a couple of days when we know he will show up for his dinner.

I appreciate you caring please let us know if he may be segregating in your yard in the area.
