🐾 U Litter Spotlight 🐾

📖 It was 4:00AM and mama Athena hadn’t shown any signs of more pups, so we figured we were in the clear. We headed home, while Linda set up a bed beside Athena to watch over the new mom and her litter.

When Jordyn (me, hi! 🙋🏻‍♀️) returned in the morning, we did a quick headcount…

One, two, three… eight… wait… nine?! We counted again, but there was no denying it, an extra little face had appeared!

Turns out, Athena wasn’t quite done after all, and at around 6:00AM, the final “U” puppy made his entrance, saving the best surprise for last!

Sometime around 3:00AM the delirium had set in and coming up with “U” names was getting harder by the minute. Chelsea had suggested the name, but with only 8 puppies, it didn’t have a home. When puppy #9 arrived we KNEW the universe was telling us this litter needed an Uncle, and he suits it perfectly! The last born, the smallest, and the absolute sweetest pup! ❤️

We had tossed around the name for a while, saving it for the right pup. When baby number 8 made his grand entrance, Linda knew we had found our Unique! This handsome boy was named for his one-of-a-kind look, but he’s just as special in personality as he is in appearance! 🩵

What happened next… we still can’t explain! Baby number 7 made her entrance and was… a lamb? a polar bear?

Named after the constellation Ursa Minor (the ‘Little Bear’) she reminded us of a tiny polar bear with her snowy coat, sweet little face, and the way she instantly stole our hearts! (ps… don’t let her looks fool you… if you’ve ever watched the Discovery Channel you know that polar bears do NOT mess around when it comes to dinner time!) 🩶

Then, 36 minutes after midnight, our next “U” pup decided to make his debut, proudly becoming the first of the July 20th arrivals!

Sam chose the name Ulysses after the legendary adventurer, and boy does it suit him perfectly! Strong and determined from the moment he arrived, this little trailblazer made us wait, then led the way for the rest of the July 20th pups to follow! 🧡

Pronounced [you-go] and means “spirited mind”. This little girl is as spirited as she is cute! Not to mention, Chelsea and Jordyn were “go go go” (driving within the legal posted speed limit, of course…😏) on their way to Linda’s just as this little pup was coming into the world! 🩷
