Rest Your Paws Pet Care was founded and is run by Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) Lisa. After working in a couple different clinics and not satisfied with that area of work, Lisa was looking to get out of the clinic atmosphere and help pet parents in a different way. Rest Your Paws Pet Care understands that most pets are more comfortable at home than they are in a clinic setting or a boardi

ng facility. By offering in-home services, pet parents don’t have to stress about their pets being locked away in small kennels and/or the anxiety caused by being away from home. Lisa will come meet you and your pets in the comfort of your home and go over with you what your needs and expectations are. Not going to lie, this year has been really tough. So many beautiful souls have gone over the rainbow bridge and this past Wednesday a sweet boy who was very dear to my heart joined those beautiful souls. For 3 years we've had the privilege to stay with Theo and his feline brothers (Little Bear🌈 & Alfie) while their humans went away on vacation or on simple trips out of town or to the cottage. Theo always greeted me with happy barks demanding treats and cuddles and he was one of my favourite dogs to care for. To Theo's family, thank you for letting me be apart of this amazing boy's life and for letting me come say goodbye to him, he is deeply missed already.

Hello everyone! North Bay is under a heat warning for the next few days and the forecast is showing it's going to feel like 33-39c while actual temperatures will be 28-29c! These temperatures are unsafe for not only your dogs but also for the RYPPC team so all walks will be shortened and walks will be substituted with inside play and cuddles. If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to Lisa directly. Thank you all for your continued support and remember to stay hydrated! Remember, NEVER leave dogs alone in hot cars!

This has been a tough year. So many beautiful souls have passed over the rainbow bridge, including one of my own. I am forever thankful to my clients who let me become part of their pet's lives, even if its just a small part. Today I take the time to remember these souls , all the slobbery kisses, the laughs from their antics, and the time just cuddling and enjoying their presence. I remember and say thank you for all the love they gave.

Today is National Ferret Day! Also known as carpet sharks, cat snakes or rope cats, these delightful little creatures won't fail to make you laugh with their antics. Their name is derived from the Latin word furittus meaning little thief and these little weasels definitely live up to that name. They love to take any item they can get their little teeth around and "ferret" them away to their secret stash! Ferrets are very social pets that love to play and are extremely curious creatures who love exploring. They're not for everyone though, as some find their musk too smelly and are a pretty high maintenance pet. But to those who have no problem with this they are a source of hours of entertainment and laughter.

Hey everyone! Weather agencies are predicting a nasty Spring Storm starting Friday with significant snow hitting our area Friday night and freezing rain on Sunday. This is going to make the roads pretty treacherous if the weather projections are correct. Scheduled walks are likely to be cancelled as it will be unsafe for the team to even be on the roads. For clients with cats that we are caring for, we will be leaving extra food and water down for cats the night before just in case we cannot make it out to your house. If you are client with a dog who we are caring for while you are away Lisa will be reaching out to you to discuss options. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns!

Hello everyone!
We wanted to inform everyone that Lisa will be out of town for a live-in booking from March 30th, 2025, to April 26th, 2025, and will be unavailable for bookings. No further live in services will be scheduled for while Lisa is away however, a limited amount of cat visits and/or dog walking bookings will be available during this time. If you are anticipating a need for services during these dates, please send in your request as soon as possible. All currently booked services will be covered by the rest of the RYPPC team, so please make sure to update your pet’s information in the system if needed so the team has the most up to date care instructions.
