In training! 🛑🟡🟢
Our lovely friend has added one of our Training Packs to each one of her puppies little take-home care packages. Such a great idea! As each pup progresses through their training, their tag may change; our Training Pack is perfect for that (better bang for your buck, too)!

Example:
🛑 red: before they have all of their shots, before knowing and understanding how they interact with other dogs and humans. I need my space.
🟡 yellow: as you implement training and want to practice your approach with other dogs and humans, please ask first so we can prepare for the interaction!
🟢 green: we know how to interact properly and our owners trust our reactions to both dogs and humans! You can pet me!

Leela 💚
(like how stinking cute are you?!)

“Leela is almost 6 months old. She loves the park, going for walks and her beaver stuffy 😂

To be honest, we chose the green tag when she was a sweet innocent newborn pup. But now as a 6 month old wild (but lovely) puppy that has developed razor blades for nails, we really wish we had a yellow tag for the days we are at the park and around a lot of kids. Sometimes she will get excited and jump up and scratch their legs a bit.”

Having a yellow tag opposed to green will encourage kids to ask before petting Leela so everyone can prepare for the interaction (even a friendly little jump)!

Although I look super cute and if you’re a human, I can’t wait to meet you! However, I’m still quite insecure around other dogs. I’m currently in training, attending socialization classes, and doggy daycare to hopefully learn how to approach my furry friends 🐶!
In the meantime, please ask first so I can practice my approach with you 😊💛

Hi I’m Oakley! ❤️
I’m about 1 year old and my parents just rescued me from Niagara Dog Rescue .

They think I’m part spaniel and papillon, but no one really knows. As much as I’m loving my new home, I’m still not sure about this walking thing and other dogs (and some times people) make me a little nervous. So, I wear red, because I’m still in training. Butttttttttttt, once you get to know me, I love to cuddle on your lap like a donut and give you kisses on your face.

Her parents upgraded her from our Yellow Please Ask First tag after getting to know her personality a bit better. Great call, guys 💚

e d u c a t i o n 📚
I was lucky enough to do a virtual reading to a kinder class a couple of weeks ago. This was probably one of the cutest things I’ve ever been a part of; I could not stop smiling! The kids were polite, engaged and interacted well with the concept of our book! We began by talking about these colours we see everyday and what they mean, such as the red on a stop sign, or something that’s hot, a wet floor sign is yellow which means to slow down, etc. After reading How to be a Better Petter, we discussed what dogs might look like when wearing each colour. I provided the classroom teacher with our post assessment colouring sheet which she sent to their guardians ahead of time so the students could complete it after our lesson!
