These two have made it home on their own. Their parents went out and sent it. They followed every bit of advice and their dogs were able to find their way home because they were so vigilant. It was a pleasure dealing with them and helping them. They are beautiful people and love their babies .
Thankfully, they are sleeping inside tonight with a full belly and lots of love!! 💕

LOST DOG 506-378-1559

This boy is gorgeous. He has been on the run for 150 days today!!
That is five months of running.

He uses train tracks, trails, highways, and has a ton of energy. He was hit by a train, he lived with bears for a week or more while wounded from the train.

He moved on to one community to the next to the next. We know where he is! He will not go in a box trap , standard trap, missy trap. He is afraid of people and afraid of other dogs and is staying on his own, keeping himself alive and fed somehow. We cannot feed him for safety reasons. If you see a new black dog in your neighborhood, please let us know ASAP so we can follow him closely and monitor.

We have fed him and had used everything we could think of ready for him to capture him and he’s not complying. We now have a plan in place and on the fifth day we had coyotes move into the outskirts of the neighbourhood.

Needless to say for the safety of our residence in this area, we had to stop trying to capture the dog and stop feeding him and not offer him treats at all because the coyotes are hungry as well.

He will have to look after himself for a bit and we can see if we can resume trying to capture him after they are gone. We don’t want him to move onto a new community. It’s just too hard to establish. I’m writing this so we can ask everyone to please not try to catch him. Don’t try to chase him. Nothing like that. It will make him move on. He’s already getting zero food. That is very important for the safety of the resident’s.

He is terrified of a trap and is a difficult dog to capture because of that. He is a rescue from Texas.

FOUND / HOME SAFELY 💥💥💥💥💥This little Lady has be on the run since last Saturday. Lots of coaching and the owner followed everything to a T!!
We set up a trap where she was hanging out with yummy food inside She is only 8 pounds but so smart.

She has been recovered by one of the phone calls by a wonderful neighbour who called that she was sleeping on someone’s deck.

Lots of signs were put up in the area and lots of information shared to the group page utilized to inform the neighborhood what to do and what not to do to help this little one get captured and back to owner who was frantic to get her back.

Someone called with the location and the owner was able to sneak up and grab her by the harness. The dog was very frightened but soon realized it was her owner and gave kisses.

We would like to Thank the neighbors in the Cap Brule, New Brunswick neighborhood for their kindness and support, and giving the owner a place to stay
As she is from out of town so she could be close to the trapping area where dog was seen.

This is such a powerful and necessary reminder. It’s completely counter-intuitive to our human instincts—when we see a dog in trouble, every fiber of our being wants to call out and run toward them to help.

Rescue advise against chasing, whistling, or calling for missing dogs.

Panicked dogs in survival mode view any approach as a threat, causing them to bolt, enter traffic, or run further away.

To help, simply observe, do not approach, and immediately report sightings (date, time, location) to the provided contact numbers.

Why Chasing Harms Rescue Efforts

🐾Panic Mode: A missing dog is in "flight mode" and will run for its life, often leading to it becoming terrified, unpredictable, and potentially dangerous to itself.

🐾Irreversible Distance: Every attempt to catch or entice the dog teaches it to run farther, reducing the chance of recovery.

🐾Setbacks: Chasing can push a dog out of its safe zone and delay rescue efforts by days.

🐾Triggers: Calling a dog's name, even by owners, can trigger a flight response if previous strangers have already chased it.

What to Do If You See a Missing Dog…

🐾Do Not Call, Whistle, or Yell: This is crucial, even if you are trying to help.

🐾Do Not Chase or Follow: This includes on foot, by car, or ATV.

🐾No Eye Contact: Avoid staring at the dog.

🐾Report Immediately: Call the number on the missing dog's poster.

🐾Provide Details: Note the date, time, exact location, and direction of travel.

The goal is to let the dog relax and establish a pattern, which allows for safe capture.
