Just a quick note to let everyone know that Big Dog Grooming will be closed for the next couple of days.

I am having a minor medical procedure today and will have limited access to my phone while I recover. As a result, there may be a delay in responding to messages, appointment requests, and inquiries.

Ticks are out in FULL force already this season. Today during a groom, 3 live ticks were removed from one dog.

Please make sure your dog is up-to-date on flea and tick prevention. Prevention is so important — not only to help avoid bringing ticks into your home, but because ticks can carry Lyme disease, which can make dogs very sick.

Lyme disease is caused by bacteria spread through tick bites. In dogs, it can lead to:

• Fever
• Lethargy and tiredness
• Loss of appetite
• Painful or swollen joints
• Lameness that may shift from leg to leg
• In severe cases, kidney complications and long-term health issues

Even dogs that spend “just a little” time outside can pick up ticks, especially in tall grass, bush areas, trails, parks, and even backyards.

A friendly reminder to check your dogs regularly and speak with your veterinarian about the best flea and tick prevention options for your pet.

🐾 At Big Dog Grooming, we care about more than just your dogs… we care about all animals. 🐾

This morning turned into something we never expected. We had to make one of the strangest emergency calls — seven of nine ducklings had fallen down our street sewer drain.

Their poor mama duck was beside herself, pacing and calling for them. It was honestly heartbreaking to watch.

We weren’t even sure who to call or what would happen… but West Perth showed up and went above and beyond. They opened the sewer and carefully rescued seven of the nine ducklings — safe and sound. 🙌

What started as a sad and stressful situation turned into a really happy ending. Watching those babies reunited with their mom was something we won’t forget.

A huge thank you to the crew for the quick response and the care you showed — it truly made a difference today. 💛

Just a reminder… kindness and compassion matter, for all creatures.
