A Goodbye to Stanley
A Sunnybrook Dog Park friend, forever Remembered 🌈
Some dogs leave paw prints on the ground,
Others leave memories that stay all around.
And Stanley, sweet boy, you were one of those,
A familiar face everyone came to know.
At Sunnybrook, we'd see you come to play,
A happy black Lab, brightening everyone's day.
Among the wagging tails and joyful runs,
You brought a little sunshine to everyone.
We never imagined we'd say goodbye,
So suddenly, without a chance to understand why.
A spinal stroke came without warning or sign,
Taking you from this world far too soon in time.
Though you weren't ours to take home each day,
You were a special part of our dog park days.
And sometimes the sweetest friendships we find,
Are the ones formed through paws, play and time.
We'll miss seeing you running through the park,
Your familiar face, your beautiful heart.
The open park won't quite feel the same,
Without your happy presence and familiar name.
So run free, Stanley, beyond the rainbow's light,
Where your legs are strong and your world is bright.
No pain, no worries, just endless green,
And all the beautiful places you've never seen.
To your family, we send love and care,
May memories of Stanley always be there.
For although our time together was brief,
You touched more hearts than you could ever believe.
Rest peacefully, Stanley.
Sunnybrook won't be quite the same without you. You'll always be one of our special dog park dogs.
Forever running free. Forever in our hearts.
