Leg-Up Pet Mobility Care My name is Melody Hubich and I am pleased to offer your pet exercise services through Leg-Up Pet Mobility Care.

Permanently closed.

My mission is to enhance an animal’s life through functional exercises designed to promote pain-free mobility, helping your furry companions move comfortably and confidently at every stage of life. With over 26 years in the veterinary field, including 7 years in rehabilitation, I specialize in improving animal mobility and managing pain through targeted therapeutic exercise. I am dedicated to help

ing pets regain their mobility, comfort, and quality of life. My goal is to assist your pet with functional exercises when you don't have the time to do it. With the busyness of today's world, it can be difficult to find time to help our pets with their own exercises. I can provide simple, everyday exercises for your pet to improve their mobility. In addition, I will follow any prescribed exercise programs from your veterinarian, veterinary rehabilitation team, or your pet's physical therapist to ensure your pet receives the care they need in the comfort of your home and surrounding environment.Let me help you facilitate their workouts and keep them on the path to better mobility and happiness! I am available weekday evenings and weekend days by appointment. We’ll start with an initial 1 hour meet-and-greet to discuss your pet's needs and goals. From there, we can establish appointments that fit your schedule.

When the Blue Jays are playing, but your pup has a limp, a little cold therapy can help alleviate some discomfort and let you watch the game. An injury will often happen on a weekend. Murphy's law 🤪 Cold packs and warmed up wheat bags can help your pet feel some relief. It is a great idea to know first aid to maybe avoid an emergency call to the vet and not miss the big game. Talk to your veterinary team about first aid kits for your pet and first aid procedures you can do at home. Go Jays! 🐦🇨🇦

With the weather getting crazy hot and we all look for a little refuge, we thought it was a good idea to put out a safety reminder.

Cyanobacteria or Blue / Green algae are a type of bacteria that thrive in warm stagnant waters like lakes and ponds. When conditions are right (like right now) visible blooms can occur very quickly. Usually as a blue/green or red/brown hue on the waters surface. Echo Dale, Reesor, Elkwater, Spruce Coulee and many others get these algae blooms every year.

Cyanobacteria can be very serious or fatal to dogs in a very short amount of time. Especially if ingested while swimming. These toxins can affect the liver and kidney function as well neurological symptoms and skin problems. Symptoms include vomiting, diarrhea, weakness, seizures, and even death. Immediate veterinary care is crucial if exposure is suspected.

You can check for advisories on the Alberta website, but don’t take that information as fact as conditions can change very rapidly.

Foxtail is popping up everywhere around Calgary. A reminder to keep your dogs away from it!! These grass-like weeds can burrow into your pet’s coat and skin which can lead to pain, infection and sometimes even more serious issues. Foxtails can be inhaled, lodged in the ears, swallowed and embedded in the paw pads. -Jay&Erin

Sometimes a cactus poke slows down the exercises for a few days. Time to find creative ways to protect the paw and still work the muscles and the mind. Creativity is a must when performing exercises on pets who have an injury. Message me if you need some assistance with your pet's routine!
