One of my favourite parts of milking routine right now -
This udder wash is easy to mix, super inexpensive to purchase and is really helping with skin health for the does.

Iā€™m seeing no dry skin, no rashes, no chafing this year. This, along with our post-milking teat dip, are helping keep SCC numbers low and weā€™ve eliminated those pesky staph based skin infections that used to plague some of the does!

The cooler nights have brought on the heat cycles in the mature does and the doe kids have better appetites as well now that itā€™s not sweltering hot during the days.
Thankfully the onset of heat cycles havenā€™t affected milk production much.

We did our 3rd official test for *P last week and there are multiple does with projections over 1000kg this lactation. Go girls go!

Patronus and Portā€™s papers arrived in the mail this week!

Theyā€™ve both settled in extremely well and Port will go to work this fall making some crossbred kids for 2027.

We made the annual trip to Millarville for the fair this weekend and as usual it was an amazing experience. Time with our close friends is always treasured and this weekend was no different.
Our wonderful judge Mr Adam Scanlan did an excellent job as usual, he coached the youngsters with showmanship classes, his experienced eyes and scary smart brain found all the good and bad in our does and we came home with some great feedback.

Kidnapped Just in Time EX90 grabbed the senior champion toggenburg title with South West Wind High Society *P VG89 claiming the reserve senior champion toggenburg award.
In Champion Challenge the wonderful GCH Kidnapped N Kiss Me Not EX90 held her ground and took best of breed again this weekend.

Kidnapped for Joy 2*M EX90 looked spectacular today and snuck away with the reserve champion La Mancha title today and we send the biggest congratulations to the BNH Livestock crew for the big wins in the La Mancha breed ā¤ļø

It was also the small humanā€™s first attempt at junior showmanship at the experienced age of 3. His favourite goat Latte came to us In a time of need, the small human needed milk, all our does were drying off and for the last 2.5 years sheā€™s kept our fridge full and our hearts fuller. Now on top of her regular duties sheā€™s taken on teaching the ins and outs of the show ring.

We have two dry yearling Nigerian dwarf does with registration papers looking for a new home. Theyā€™re bonded siblings so should go together.
Theyā€™re not from high end genetics but are decent little does to handle.

Reach out if interested, preference for a speedy rehoming and the price will reflect that.
