I kind of like because it really is true!

They call us "The Elderly"
We were born in the 40-50-60’s.
We grew up in the 50-60-70's.
We studied in the 60-70-80's.
We were dating in the 70-80-90's.
We got married and discovered the world in the 70-80-90's.
We venture into the 80-90’s.
We stabilize in the 2000’s.
We got wiser in the 2010’s.
And we are going firmly through and beyond 2020.
Turns out we've lived through EIGHT different decades...
TWO different centuries...
TWO different millennia...
We have gone from the telephone with an operator for long–distance calls to video calls to anywhere in the world.
We have gone from slides to YouTube, from vinyl records to online music, from handwritten letters to email and Whats App.
From live matches on the radio, to black and white TV, colour TV and then to 3D HD TV.
We went to the Video store and now we watch Netflix.
We got to know the first computers, punch cards, floppy disks and now we have gigabytes and megabytes on our smartphones.
We wore shorts throughout our childhood and then long trousers, Oxfords, flares, shell suits & blue jeans.
We dodged infantile paralysis, meningitis, polio, tuberculosis, swine flu and now COVID-19.
We rode skates, tricycles, bicycles, mopeds, petrol or diesel cars and now we drive hybrids or electric.
Yes, we've been through a lot but what a great life we've had!
They could describe us as "exennials," people who were born in that world of the fifties, who had an analog childhood and a digital adulthood.
We've kind of "Seen-It-All"!
Our generation has literally lived through and witnessed more than any other in every dimension of life.
It is our generation that has literally adapted to "CHANGE."
A big round of applause to all the members of a very special generation, which will be UNIQUE!

Mother nature was definitely portraying bipolar behavior today!!! From the time I left my house this morning at 11am it was raining (the rain started earlier), and when I got on my bike to ride home at 3:30pm, still raining. I was soaked through my rain gear and boots (not complaining, I am used to it). It is about a 15 minute bike ride home, straight down Ridout /Upper Queens/Nixon/Ernest ... between the South Secondary School area and Upper Queens and Commisioners the rain stopped and turned light snow. By the time i got to Ernest and Jalna, the snow was really coming down. I don't remember seeing rain change to snow that quickly before!
Again not complaining just very surprised.
A couple photos of the 3 amigos playing together yesterday (Thursday)...there was an overlap between dropping Maggie off at home, picking up Maizy to meet Georgia and Maizy and I walking Georgia home and continuing with Maizy's walk. Anyhow, we took advantage of the overlap and the 3 girls were able to have 15 minutes secure play time together....

It was a great afternoon today! I am doing an overnight with Benny and Oakley...when I arrived after lunch, they were definitely waiting for me, barking at the door before I even got to it. I was given hugs, kisses, and wild tail wagging...it feels wonderful to be welcomed so enthusiastically. We all played hallway fetch and watched The Secret Life of Pets 2 and then after realizing I had never seen Secret Life of Pets 1, I had to rectify that. I haven't laughed so hard in a very long time and I cried a couple times. If you need a lighthearted, funny, cute thing to do...definitely watch these 2 movies. I don't know why it took me so long to check them out!!!
Pics of my cuddle and make me feel loved, pups of the day. Truth be told, all my pups whether I see them 5 days a week or 1 day a week or on occassion as needed, always bring me so much joy and unconditional love...it really doesn't get any better. I love each and every one for their unique personalities and mannerisms!

What a stellar week this has turned into. I was so fortunate the first 7 days with Pearl, Jude and Ellie, left them @ 1 pm and by 1:15 pm I am with Bennie and Oakley until tomorrow afternoon. I haven't seen Bennie and Oakley since last May?..good thing is they haven't forgotten me and I received a very warm welcome from them both.

I find it endearing when one or more of the dogs remove my various winter layers of clothing from the railing, including my coat, base layer thermal tee, sweater, and one or two hoodies, and use them to create a bed.

I am sitting here having a zen moment....in my head I am singing..clowns to the left of me....jokers to the right...stuck in the middle with you....

In my case though this is said with absolute love and contentment....also thinking to myself job well done they are all sleeping.

Happy New Year to my friends, extended fur family and everyone really whether we have formally met or not.
I sincerely hope everyone had a fantastic holiday season, filled with love, joy, friends and family close by. I hope the New Year brings health, prosperity and fills all
your needs and wishes.
The holiday season for me wasn't quite what I was expecting and planning for but, I am meeting 2025 head on and with no regrets and a full heart...and that is thanks to every one of you and most especially my extended fur babies and family. You bring me comfort, joy and purpose and I am so very thankful and appreciative beyond all measure.
I look forward to spending 2025 with you and making it a fantastic year.

I am spending tonight with this hug bug Maya...isn't she adorable! So happy to be back to work!

On Saturday, December 14th, I was able to see 17 year old Tessa one last time and say goodbye to her before she crossed the rainbow bridge. I am forever thankful to Tessa's Mom for contacting me to let me know that Tessa had continued to decline health wise, since I had been with her Tuesday night into Wednesday morning and welcoming me to say goodbye if I would like to either before the vet arrived or when the vet arrived. I choose to go before to say goodbye, as the latter was a family time to be together remembering the 13 years that Tessa had been an integral member of the family. During my last visit with Tessa I was able to thank her for the time we had together and wishing her safe travels to a bright, carefree, sunny place where she was forever young and painfree. It meant the world to me, being able to say goodbye!
I will miss you, Tessa and you will always hold a piece of my heart!

This morning's walk to do Meera kitty's drop-in/breakfast visit, was beautiful, mild and wonderfully peaceful. Downside, side/back streets were unpassable by bicycle and sidewalks/walking paths were dangerously icy to walk on....the city did a unacceptable job clearing the snow this time. Upside, at 4pm sidewalks were walkable and the back and side streets I used were safe via bicycle. Bodes well for tomorrow morning.

Georgia, Maggie and I went for a 90 minute walk this afternoon...and it was a fantastic walk. I fully expected the girls to be tired when we got back to Maggie's house to drop her off...the video show what actually occurred. I love these two!!!
Who am I kidding I love every one of my extended pet family and every dog I meet along the way when we are walking. I probably won't remember the human's name but chances are high I will remember the dog's name.
