Education is key and this is something I'm passionate about because I love all Dogs. I have met too many families who had no idea the grooming needs of a doodle and this is written in a way that expresses my thoughts and feeling exactly.
The UK is catching on.
Major newspapers are beginning to speak out about the designer dog trendâspecifically the explosion of Doodle breedsâand for good reason. Groomers, veterinarians, trainers, and even breeders are witnessing the fallout firsthand: unpredictable temperaments, chronic health conditions, severe grooming neglect, and families overwhelmed by dogs they werenât prepared for.
The truth is: Doodles are not an ethical breeding model.
They are marketed as hypoallergenic family companions, but they are the result of mixing two completely different breeds with vastly different needsâphysically, mentally, and genetically. There is no breed standard, no long-term health preservation, and no predictability in coat, temperament, or structure. And without regulation, Doodles are often bred by those looking to cash in on a trend, not preserve or protect a lineage.
But hereâs what matters just as much:
This is not about attacking the people who already love one.
Many families adore their Doodlesâand they should. Love is never wrong. What is wrong is repeating a system that creates preventable suffering, confusion, and chaos in the name of profit.
So instead of throwing stones at people who didnât know better, letâs offer them a magnifying glass. đ
Letâs help them zoom out to see the big pictureâand zoom in to understand why this happened and how we move forward. Not with guilt, but with growth. Not with shame, but with stewardship.
We must be patient with those who resist these truths. Itâs hard to admit a mistake when feelings are involvedâespecially when that dog is sitting at their feet, looking up at them with love. No one wants to hear that they were misled when their heart is already committed. Thatâs human. Thatâs real. And thatâs where our compassion matters most.
But love for a dog should never mean staying silent about the system that created them.
If we truly love dogs, we must learn from the past and protect the future.
We must share, educate, and upliftânot to divide, but to call each other higher.
To my fellow Poodle guardians, breeders, and admirers:
Speak up. Post. Educate. Share your wisdom with grace and strength.
Letâs fill the void with truth so that no more families walk blindly into heartbreak, and no more dogs are born into avoidable instability.
The Poodle is worth preserving.
Dogs are worth protecting.
And together, we can choose a better path. â€ïžđŸâ€ïž
