Does that make you feel safe or does it just make you feel more terrified? That’s the reality of how the other guys train we are taught to wait for the dog to explode the barking the lunging the spill and then we try to correct it by then you were just frantically trying to clean up a mess that didn’t need to happen!
Positive reinforcement isn’t about being permissive is about watching the water level .
Instead of waiting for the reaction we stopped while The Dog is still under threshold. We see the trigger. We pause. We let the water level go down and decompress..
This builds trust and confidence rather than fear .
Don’t manage the mess manage the water level.

Has everyone been enjoying the snow dump over the weekend?
On Friday, I took a snow day. One of the hardest challenges I have being a business owner is still working when I’m at home not because of the work. I love what I do, but because I have to explain to my son that just because dad‘s home doesn’t mean I’m not working so Friday was a much needed snowball fight and building a nice little fort.
Whether you have a family or you’re by yourself, please don’t forget to take a moment for yourself and really enjoy the small things.
