Oh what fun it is to ride on a sunny spring day in NC!

Last year it was decided to find a 2nd rider for our beautiful homebred Holsteiner gelding Dynamic JF (Dallas vdl x Calido 1), and it couldn't have worked out better to find Emme! A kind rider and horseman, who has joined us on the journey of developing this talented young horse. Emme spent her winter in North Carolina this year, and it was decided that it would be a great opportunity for Dax to go south for the winter with her with the goal of getting him to a show or 2 before coming home in the spring.

Last week I was able to fly down and spend the week with them both and show my lovely boy along with Emme at the remarkable show grounds

It was a horse persons dream vacation, sunny weather, temps above 20 degrees celcius, and oh what a large fabulous place to show and hack around the x-country course. Dynamic (Dax) was a star he handled his time there like a seasoned pro. He put in some super courses, and made a few baby mistakes, but he placed in every class. We couldn't be prouder with how this young horse of ours is developing.

Thank you to the team at Silverhill Farm for taking such great care of him, allowing me to join your crew for the week, and for helping maintain his training over the winter season.

Oakley Top – 2019 Dressage Gelding | 17hh | Hennessey x Amelia (Jacardo)

Oakley Top is an elegant 7-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding standing 17hh, sired by the talented Hennessey and out of Amelia, a proven Jacardo daughter.

His sire Hennessey (De Niro x Jazz) is known for producing offspring with exceptional rideability, expressive movement, and a strong work ethic — qualities that clearly shine through in Oakley. His dam line adds power and refinement, with Jacardo bringing modern type, elasticity, and a calm, trainable temperament that makes his offspring standouts in the dressage ring and reliable partners for amateur riders alike.

True to his breeding, Oakley Top embodies the best of both worlds: an intelligent, kind, and people-oriented gelding with three quality gaits and a natural desire to please. He is currently in professional dressage training and shows excellent potential to move up the levels with ease.
Oakley’s steady, forgiving nature makes him an ideal choice for an amateur or nervous rider seeking a confident, uncomplicated partner with genuine talent and heart.

He is currently schooling the following movements in his regular training, most of the movements are worked on weekly, many are just preliminary introductions to help build skill, diversity of use of body and mind, strengthening his core, back, and hind end: Good rhythm and control in all gaits, self carriage, stretching work in all gaits, lengthening, and collecting of all gaits, leg yield/renvers/travers in all gaits, simple changes, walk-> canter transitions, walk pirouettes, 10 m circles and up, very lightly touched on some counter canter, and the beginning of lead changes, YES he has given them successfully in both directions, however far from auto at this time.

Oakley's strongest trait is his desire to please, his enjoyment of the work, and his ability to continuously rise to the occasion. This guy just gets better and better as his ride progresses.
A special young horse with the pedigree, temperament, and talent to go far — while keeping his rider smiling every day.

"Blessed are the broodmares"

No truer words have been spoken, especially when it comes to Daenerys or Danny as she was lovingly known as. Back in 2017 I found her online, and had her shipped from California to my farm in Alliston. I remember driving accross the boarder with my friend Janet, in my landlords truck and trailer because I had been in a car accident with my truck the week before. I was exhausted from having just shown at the Royal the weekend before. I remember meeting her for the first time and just being in awe of her presence, and beautiful frame.

This past Sunday I became extra sentimental, and emotional as I watched Arkeremis de Marabel win the LT Gov Cup Qualifier, and finish High Point.

Why....??? Because she followed exactly in her Brothers (Dynamic JF) footprint. He accompished the exact same in his 3yr old year. This also followed a succesful showing with Dynamic at Palgrave just the week before. And it made me think of their lovely Dam Daenerys, and how she has stamped her foals. What consistency she created, the presence and athleticism she passed on to all her children.

As her oldests are entering their 5th and 6th and 4th year, and have started showing over fences its becoming obvious how athletic and talented her foals are.

Is pining over my lost page today. I wonder how many business messages I haven't seen. All my reviews, and followers feel lost. All those years building a following to have it gone and get absolutely zero assistance from facebook itself. All their suggestions just run you around in a circle.
