A Letter to My Future Home 🐾❤️

Dear Future Family,

I don’t know your names yet. I don’t know what your home looks like, where my bed will be, or who I’ll curl up beside at the end of the day.

But I’ve been waiting for you.

I’ve been waiting all summer, hoping that maybe my turn would come. And now, with summer ending, the school year almost here, and everyone settling back into their normal routines, I’m wondering…

Could this finally be the right time for you to find me?

I would love to meet you this coming Sunday from 12-4 at the Dog Tales Open House.

It’s been a long, lonely, and difficult wait for me.

I love the staff who care for me. I love the volunteers who spend time with me and remind me that I matter. But as grateful as I am for every bit of love they give me, a kennel is not a home.

The stress of shelter life is hard. The days can feel very long when you’re watching other dogs leave with their families and wondering when someone will finally choose you.

More than anything, I want to belong to someone.

I want a home where I can finally exhale. A family to love. A place where I know that when I close my eyes at night, I’ll wake up in the same safe place with the same people who chose me.

I’ve been waiting all summer.

Maybe I’ve been waiting for you.

Please come meet me this Sunday.

Love,
Your Future Best Friend ❤️

Buddy’s journey continues. ❤️

While we’re grateful for the progress Buddy has made, there is still a lot ahead for him medically. He continues to need care, monitoring, and support to help him get stronger.

There have been good days, difficult days, and plenty of uncertainty, but Buddy keeps showing us just how strong he is.

Thank you for following his journey, keeping him in your thoughts, and supporting him through every step.

We will continue to be here for Buddy and provide him with the care he needs. But more than anything, Buddy is looking for a place to call home — an adopter or foster who can give him the love, comfort, and security he deserves.

The last thing we want is for Buddy to spend the rest of his life in the shelter.

You can help Buddy by sharing his story and helping us reach the person who may be able to open their home to him. Every share can make a difference.

If you would like to help support Buddy’s ongoing medical needs, please consider making a donation to Dog Tales Charitable Foundation.

Meet Buddy.

He arrived in really rough shape; with a fever, a large tumor, back pain, severe dental disease, a heart murmur, ear infection, and serious eye problems that have left him blind.

We’re taking things one step at a time. For now, we’re focusing on his eyes, ears, and pain management before he sees specialists to determine the best plan for his care.

Buddy has a long road ahead, and we need your help. Please consider donating toward his medical care and give this sweet boy the chance he deserves. ❤️

Every donation makes a difference.

FROM 100 PEOPLE TO 500. THIS IS WHAT YOUR SHARING HAS ACHIEVED.

Since COVID, we’ve had an average of 100–120 people come through our doors during our Open Houses.

For the past two weeks, we’ve had 500 people walk through our doors EACH SUNDAY.

YOU did that.

Every time you shared our poster, posted it in a community group, sent it to a friend, told a neighbour, or simply helped spread the word—you became part of this.

And we are truly seeing the difference.

More people through our doors means more people meeting our dogs. More applications. More adoptions. More dogs going HOME. And every dog that finds a home creates space for us to say YES to another dog who needs us.

This is what YOUR share can do.

So we’re asking you to keep going.

Take our poster and share it in ONE group. Print it and put it somewhere in your community. Send it to your neighbours, coworkers, friends and family.

You don’t have to foster a dog to help us.

You don’t have to adopt a dog to make a difference.
Sometimes, you just have to SHARE.

Because 100–120 people became 500 when this community showed up and spread the word.

If someone walked through our doors because of something you shared, you were part of that.

You are part of every new connection made.

You are part of every adoption that starts with someone walking through our doors.

And you are part of helping us make room for the next dog who needs us.

Please keep sharing. Look at what YOU are helping us achieve. 🐾❤️

Bam Bam is Elise’s next Vlog Spotlight! 💗

This little guy is pure sunshine in dog form.

His tail is always going, his nose is always exploring, and he’s always ready for a cuddle.

He’s great with kids and other dogs, and he may be small, but he has BIG energy and an even bigger heart.

Bam Bam will soon be heading in for eye and dental surgery. In the meantime, Elise is here to show you why this happy little guy is impossible not to love!
