Today, we had the absolute pleasure of hosting our first session in our motherhood series on mom rage—and wow, what an honest, and deeply connecting conversation. 💛

A huge shoutout to Laura, our incredible MSW intern, for creating such a warm and inviting space where our mamas could show up, be real, and feel truly seen. Your thoughtful facilitation made all the difference!

Please use this post as a reminder that rage is often just the tip of the iceberg—beneath lies exhaustion, loneliness, overstimulation, lack of support, and so much more. Rage is a signal, sounding the alarm that we have unmet needs that deserve care and attention.

To all the mamas who joined us today—thank you for your vulnerability, your openness, and for reminding each other that we are not alone in this. We are so honoured to hold space for these conversations. 💜✨

We can’t wait for the week 2 of our series on Motherhood and Self Compassion. If you missed this one or are interested in joining the series please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. Let’s continue the conversation, break the silence, and support each other in finding the connection, and care we all need.

Sometimes, big feelings can feel like a cranky little crab—snappy, intense, and hard to handle. 🦀

When your child is overwhelmed, help them see their feelings as something they have, not something they are.

Helping them externalize a feeling can give them space to understand and manage it.

Try this:
🗨️ “It looks like angry crab has scuttled in. What do you think it needs?”

Externalizing feelings like this can help your child:

✔️ Understand that emotions are temporary visitors
✔️ See they have control over how to respond.
✔️ Build emotional awareness and resilience.

The goal isn’t to get rid of the cranky crab, rather to help your child realize they can coexist with it and still make good choices.

And this goes for parents too, take notice when your cranky crab comes for a visit and name it too!
